What/ where is your happy place? What things can you think of to turn your mood around?
If I cannot be happy here and now why would I want to imagine that I might be happy somewhere else? Is happiness a place or state of being?
Word
Everyone has a rough day, just curious what people do to make it better. I'm fond of contemplating crazy scenarios and posing what if questions.
That would definitely be good food. By good, I certainly do not mean food which is good for your health. Rather the drag you down to hell kind of food and of course, if I can get my hands on a favorite movie to go with that - bingo, I have got myself a miracle pick-me-up
The kind of food that you know will sit like a rock, and hang out on your lovehandles long after you've eaten it. Excellent mood elevator.
I put it in my head that I can travel faster than the speed of light and my brain just kind of hums.
I get that!
When I'm dancing wherever it might be.
Hard to argue while dancing! Bravo!
Every place is my happy place, so I guess the inside of my head. I am not naive or some type of space cadet, but happiness is a choice. So I choose it. I get sad sometimes but never, ever stay that way.
These are all such excellent answers! My happy places are almost solely in my head, lodged in my imagination. I guess I'm a bit more flighty. I can't help but think something ridiculous like, if the multiverse theory is real, there is a version of me out there somewhere that is a squirrel and owns a pony. Something outlandish that makes me giggle.
The hammock in the back yard, half asleep & listening to the neighbor's fountain.
Hiking in Custer State Park in South Dakota. I don't worry about anything there. Sadly, I am moving away but I'll find another.
Music.
For example: this wonderful link; found it on this site a few days ago.
When Sissel finishes her last stanza with such beauty; enriched with the amazingly warm and rich aid of a tender orchestra and choir; such warm and soft emotion. Reminds me of my old orchestra and choir days. Although I was never a part of this work; to be a part of the production group effort of beauty evokes a feeling of bliss.
Traveling and the process of planning where to go. Making music. Picking a little banjo. Playing bass with our celtic band. Gardening. Nothing like vine ripe tomatoes. Hanging out with friends. Hiking in the woods, or local parks and wetlands. Seeing my great grandson. He laughs at everything, and is always trying to figure out how things work. An engineer in the making. Cuddling with my sweetie.
