A lot of Indie stuff, and then up pops Prine ?. I love this post ?
Well I wouldn't call it indy because indy is a genre in and of itself. Mostly my list is comprised of metal, punk, and hardcore with some folk mixed in, and whatever you call Wardruna. Interestingly though these days I rarely listen to punk or hardc7ore, and mostly listen to metal and country.
Love John Prine though, I actually got to see him live a few years ago and it was incredible. HHe's definitely one of my favorite songwriters. It's also because of him that I became open to country music which has in turn lead me to a lot of other great music that I now love

Love Hedwig & the Angry Inch! Now I want to watch/listen to it.
I can't really answer this, even my all time favorites list is much longer than just 15.
I totally appreciate that ?. I deliberately tried to avoid the 'favorite' or 'best ever' tag. ?
Not an easy task Simon!
Throughout life? Too hard! LOL

Maybe it wasn't phrased well. I lifted it directly from a post about books. Perhaps i should have said influenced throughout your life. I have to admit i am only aquainted with a few of these albums. More research ... (actually a pleasant outcome of this post) ? Must do my own when this dies down ?
@SimonCyrene Ah, well I tried to include things where the entire album is good, IMO anyway.
Tons of pieces & parts things that are iconic to me but these are in total.
And while I"m here I'll add Test Department "Totality" to my list. LOL
@Qualia lol. There are a few insisting on an extra choice or two (which is perfectly fine). I deliberatly didn't want restrict people to 'best album ever' type of thing cos i wanted some insight into each contributors character and of course to educate myself ?
It was kind of difficult, if I were to list it again, it would change lol
This was hard to make...lol
The Wall
The Dark Side of the Moon
A Night at the Opera
Abraxas
Madonna Bedtime Stories
Janet Jackson Janet
Bob Marley Exodus
The Downward Spiral
Sublime (self-titled)
Ænima
Tidal
S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
The Battle of Los Angeles
Make Yourself
Björk Greatest Hits
(Kid A, Radiohead!)
The top half i identify with. The bottom i will have to research ?
@SimonCyrene it doesn't all match... and bottom half is newer.
Anymore they say best of but,

Steve Morse - High Tension Wires
Don Henley - End of the Innocence
Quite m.o.r. , which is fine. I personally would have least in common with this collection but i will endeavour to do better ?
15? Makes a change, it's usually a top 3

Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper

Slade Alive - Slade
Stranded - Roxy Music
Electric Warrior - T.Rex
Sticky Fingers - Rolling Stones
Power In The Darkness - Tom Robinson
I thought even 15 a little unfair. 15 allows a little insight into a persons make up. It also allows Tom to stand alongside Slade which is nice. And you have the personal luxury of including 3, yes 3! Queen albums ?
@SimonCyrene At the time I was absolutely devoted to them (Queen), up to their 6th album I had everything they'd put out on vinyl, had logos on my school bags etc, they were a big deal
1Rumors, Fleetwood Mac 2 Appetite for Destruction, GNR 3 Shout at the Devil, Motley Crue 4 Pyromania, Def Leppard 5 Records, Foreigner 6 Back in Black, ACDC 7 LA Woman, The Doors 8 Nevermind, Nirvana 9 Hi Infidelity, REO 10 Grand Illusion, Styx 11 Van Halen, Van Halen 12 Live Bullet, Bob Seger 13 Alive, Kiss 14 Rage for Order, Queensryche 15 Blackout, Scorpions
Heavy metallic ring to that line-up with a little balance provided by The Doors, Seger and Mac. Queensryche is a blast from the past, nice obscure one there ?
Nir-bloody-vana! Bugger! Though, I would have gone for Bleach. I went through 4 copies of that album living in share houses during the 90's. Kept going 'missing'...

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Cosmos Factory
... and there are soooooo many more. The Temptations, Elton John, Steppenwolf.
The Grateful Dead i'm not overly familiar with. The fact you have chosen two albums suggests i should do some research ?
@Byrdsfan i have the compilation album that shows all the different line-ups and off-shoot bands, very influential band.
