How many of us in here have lived and continue to live a PERFECTLY ethical and moral life?
This is a trick question, right? Oh, and perfectionism is recognized as a mental impediment......
No on lives this kind of life period. What happens is that in time we get better because we see and correct our mistakes. This makes us better human beings. For some it goes the other way and they get worse to a point of prison or even a death sentence.
Is this all because of effects of god and religion or maybe because we learn that we should treat others as we ourselves want to be treated. I'll take the latter every time.
To determine this I would have to know what your definition of perfection is. I have no working model of perfection to work off. My ethical and moral choices are based on my well being and the well being of others. Do I get it right everytime? No.
I believe there is no such thing as perfection in most aspects of existence, and certainly not in morality and ethics. That is simply because those concepts cannot help but be somewhat (if not entirely) subjective.
Yes, as much as is possible....but the capital lettering in perfectly would not be possible as we are all human and therefore have flaws and imperfections.
I think I understand where this is coming from and I'll have to say that I wholeheartedly agree with the question. My answer is an unequivocally no, I have not..... by "today" standards we all must be guilty of something, unless we are not relevant at all then no one cares.
You mean is anyone here living in denial? No I make mistakes and I think everyone does.
We all make mistakes. What hurts you is being in a church to learn that god and Jesus never made mistakes and wanting you to live up to that fantasy.
Why do you ask, or care?
We live to be happy, and for most, needlessly hurting people, animals, the environment, etc., don't make us happy. When it does, then those people are acting contrary to the energy of the universe.
@Knightrain07 Everything we do affects the entire energy web of the universe..in effect, everything is the same proton. What we do to anything else is the same is doing it to ourselves. There's not a god judging us, because we are the gods. What we decide has consequences that affect everything else.
