Hahaha what a lovely topic
Well if you think about it, all versions are translations, and translation, especially from a highly sophisticated language like ancient Greek, always require interpretation... Thus, you have versions/editions of the word of God. God, how stupid when you put it down in words...

I remember a very old episode of "The Atheist Experience" where they discussed a new translation that changed "stoned" to "stoned to death" because too many young people thought "stoned" only meant getting high.

Ashley Perrien quipped, "Now they get REALLY high."

It reminds me of the elderly church lady who, when confronted by a modern language version of the Bible, stated: "If the King James version of the Bible was good enough for Jesus, it is good enough for me."

And it's always so convenient that the "version" they are quoting just happens to agree with them.

When I think about it there should be no interpretation of the Bible. It should stand alone and mean the same to everybody, as the true word of god

Jesus Christ there are a lot of 'em.

The versions are hysterical (haven't read them), but I think they are changing those words they don't like to ones that they do. As this progresses, over time, it will mean the end for this religion.
