In you mind, what are you first? Where would your ultimate affinity lie? An atheist/agnostic, citizen of your country, or human being. Or, indeed, anything else such as unlabelled drifter.

I don't recall making a choice to be a human, so I suppose that would just be a fact of my birth and my parents. Being a citizen of the country I reside in is also sort of an accident of where I was born, but I do have choices I can make about this aspect of life. Being agnostic is a choice based on my thoughts, reading, and conclusions. How would I rank them? I suppose being a citizen and an agnostic are dependent on being human and having the human capacity for thought which defines the other two. The other two are mutually exclusive since I am able to change one without requiring a change to the other.

I'll take unlabeled drifter for $1000, Alex.

This is really corny I know but my most important identity is being a mother. Although they are all grown, I would still lay down my life for theirs.

Not corny at all. Me too. Then I'm just me, trying to follow my own path.

animal nature to protect your young

HUMAN. We are all human first. Though many will stand against others who aren't born in 'their' country. Those who are born in their country but originated from another. Or ones whos' sexual orientation is anything but straight. I'm a bleeding heart liberal. My dogs are the best people I know 😉

An animal, just like all the other animals.

and um...next.............social justice crusader!

A son and a father. My family is my identity.

3

A Humanist. In a nut shell, a Humanist strives to make the world a better place and tries to be a good human.

My country bestowed citizenship upon me because of where I just happened to be born. My loyalty goes to humanity though.

I am selfish 😅

A temporary inhabitant of the planet who, as a member of the most intelligent species, is also a steward of the planet and its other inhabitants as well.

Father first, resident of Earth second, staunch anti-theist third.

I’m a Father first
A medical provider second
I have little room for anything else

Hats of to you. I tried working in medicine for four years before I finally admitted to myself that I am not psychologically capable of doing some of the things required in the profession.

@Piratefish
I absolutely adore my job
It’s an honor and a privilege
It’s defiantly a weird job but I love it

And thank you

I am a human female that is a citizen of this earth. I'm proud to be a mother, sister and friend and I serve my family, community and world to the best of my ability.

Practicing sociopath.

I have never labeled myself or lived my life identifying with one credo or another. I am me and act accordingly. I wave no flags, recite no chants, belong to no exclusive clubs. I am me.

2

I think human being is too broad/generic of an identity to have any significant meaning. I would label myself as an American since that speaks to my cultural up bringing and general world view, but it would probably not be one of the first labels I’d use. I have introduced myself as the “liberal feminist heathen, your parents warned you about” so I guess my affinity lies within atheism before anything else.

First & Foremost I am a HUMAN BEING

Human, humanist, and individualist.

The country of my birth is a shameful embarrassment at the moment.

I am proud to be a U.S. citizen and the ideals that it is supposed to stand for. I am very sad of the direction that it is heading and ashamed of who is its current president.

Everything is in YOUR mind. I'm my SELF. When I go, everything else goes on. Before Trump, I considered myself an American citizen. I cared about the welfare of other people, I cared about the truth, I cared about my personal honesty. I had a strong work ethic. When the ugly of Trump and his followers really sank in, I was repelled. I would not lift a finger to help if somebody dropped from a heart attack in front of me in case they should be a trumpster. I would like for a single day to go by without the Don saying something stupid, lying, or doing anything newsworthy. I hope to be a part of bringing down the patriarchy. It does not serve women any more, and women are no longer interested in serving men. We will be equals or else men will be left behind. The future is female. I insist that women own their own bodies, and can make their own reproductive choices. I've been plucking people off of me like ticks. Family, former friends, former employees. My interests are now birds, orchids, native wildlife, and fighting our corrupt County and City Government. I will soon apply myself to replacing that psychopath in the White House with a human being that cares about America, our laws, our diverse people, the land and the environment. Then I will attempt to repair my contempt for people and find my way back to compassion.

you are good except the not helping someone who feel down just in case a trump suporter. I would help and I am anti trump and athiest and still helped you

You said, “I would not lift a finger to help if somebody dropped from a heart attack in front of me in case they should be a trumpster.” But what if they happened to not be a Trumpster? Should the innocent suffer for our lack of compassion?

The way we fight the “the ugly of Trump and his followers” is with beauty. Lies are defeated with truth. When they go low, we go high. Hate is smothered with compassion. Now is the time to begin.

Gawd! Don’t reckon there’s enough hours in the day!

@dare2dream I spent 25 years as a nurse. If you don't think that requires compassion, then you know nothing. I hurt my back and ruined my knees taking care of others. The bilat knee replacements bend no further than 120 degrees. I would risk damage and possibly another surgery for my husband and one of my 3 children. As for the rest of you, you probably don't even know CPR, and could not help me. Can't imagine why I would risk my health for you. The exception is a child small enough to pick up. If I can get them on a table, I know what to do.

A father first, a (good) human being next

Human being.

depends on my mood.
i like good craft beer & it can make a jolly good fellow. but i get into some black moods. there are days when i read, think & know what's going on in this world, when i would turn in my human bean card if i had one. i suppose that day will come soon regardless.

I am a person first, and a US citizen second.

I would say human if it was an us or them thing...but since it's not I'm going with citizen of my country which I'm not too happy with at the moment. I'd go with college alum first, or hometown if those were choices.
