Randomly decided to look-up the "latest/newest religion on earth" and was directed to this:
[newscientist.com]
"Kopimism"
Not sure how serious to take this 'movement.'
Looking forward to what you think about this after reading the inteview and the site.
Well that’s creativity out of the window then lols.
"Knock-knock"
"Yes"
"We are Jehovahs burglars and we a persecuted by the state because of our beliefs"
"What do you believe?"
"We believe that you have valuables in this house"
Jokes aside, you get a lot of rights as a religion. For example, many Rastas can claim religious persecution for pot busts. As they view weed as a sacrament, like Catholics communion wine. If you get done for file-sharing then it might be a defence to say it was a religious act?
Wow, that was a mind-blowingly awesome angle to look at it!
take this just as seriously as any other religion .....
That's the craziest thing I've heard today, but it's very early. On the other hand it's a good way to get out of paying taxes if they decide to become an income generating organization like most churches
i think it's ridiculous. first of all, it speaks of science as if it contains truth (science is a study, not the gospe!) and secondly, it assumes that atheists et al need a religion (we don't). worst of all, it offers faith, which is antithetical to science! as movements go, flush it.

The best part of the interview "Is Julian Assange a high priest of Kopimism?" completely cracked me up. I'd say the interview should have asked whether he's a Kopycat.
So what I take from their content website is 'Science explains a lot but what we believe it doesn't is magic'
Yet another variant added to the pool of delusionals.
Yea, that Julian Assange bit was funny
I think Assange is more of a whistleblower-helper than a file sharer.
