if alcohol is necessary, the date really isn't.

Nope. If I feel the need for "liquid courage" in order to go out with somebody, I'd rethink the date altogether. If someone else requires a crutch in order to be in my company, please do us both a favor: cancel the date.

Not for me. I can’t speak for her. Then again, first dates aren’t necessary for me either.

Whatever it takes for a lady to get up the nerve to go out with me!
Who am I to judge🤔

I quit alcohol in 1992. My first-dates immediately became difficult. By 1999 first-dates became very difficult. I still haven't adapted, still haven't overcome the anxiety.

Nope!

No, coffee or a lime and soda are much better for me 😊

Absolutely not

I don't like alcohol. It dehydrates me and gives me a headache.

If a man gets drunk on a first date, I'm out.

Honestly, it can help. Moderation is key though, and im not just saying that

Since I don't drink at all ... nope. Also, I prefer meeting in the light of day - even early morning for some mutual outdoor activity, or an early afternoon walk.

Main thing for me is to see if we each enjoy simply being around one another - without too much distraction.

Nope. Absolutely not.... I used to be a social drinker... but now I cannot drink at all, nor would I risk it... I think people do it to help them chat and open up or to help them be willing to have sex.... I think I am a decent conversationalist and even with no attraction to a date, I will engage him in conversation.... and I never have sex on the 1st date so no need to dull my nerves for that either! 😉 XD

The only thing necessary is a desire and willingness to relate.

I only have one drink a day. I do not like the headache or the sickness of indulgence. If I do have a drink I do not drive. Not enough to get a buzz but I take no chances with it.

Not for me, I don't drink. As for my date, it's up to them, altho I would be turned off by someone who got drunk around me and would not see them again. I prefer meeting during the day if possible for a first meeting and having coffee or tea with them.

Incidentally, Homer is not exactly my idol, but Bender rocks!

candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker 😮

Not necessary but nice. I once went on a date with someone who didn't offer a drink - he was uptight and it was hard to warm up to him. Never saw him again on my part. Like to get high so prefer a toker. Too bad you're not closer LOL. Just became single and moved into my own apartment.
