Well, and I do NOT mean this to be disparaging nor sarcastic, etc, we Atheists don't spend the very precious hours of our short lives, and short they are even for Believers as well btw, on our knees or in Church Pews, etc, offering up prayers and gratitudes to something that has ONLY ever existed in the fevered and scared minds of men who were far, far more primitive than we are today.
We celebrate being alive, able to think freely, enjoy each day as it comes, enjoy our families and friends and the company we keep with them, we give each other gifts as a thank you for the kindnesses, caring, friendships, support and love each has shown towards the other, as well as celebrating the Inherent Morals and Social Ethics that have passed down to us ALL through countless thousands of generations since the first Homo Sapiens and those who came before us first evolved.
Now, does that go some way towards answering your query?

I love the holidays. It's not necessary to believe a fairy tale in order to use it as a reason to celebrate.

It was celebrated by pagans by gift giving, drinking, and promiscuous SEX seems the Christians hijacked it and completely remove the sex, limited the drinking thusly fucking up a great holiday!

Hmmm Jesus? That was his name. Also if he was a real person his birthday would have been in the spring . Constantine created Christmas to get the pagans into the new political state run religion. Christians are celebrating the winter solstice complete with tree whether they want to believe it or not.

Who needs Christmas? Who needs to spend time and money putting up decorated trees? Who needs to go shopping to buy gifts for people who have everything they need? Who needs to get silly crappy gifts you don't need or want from people you know? Who needs to sit in a church and be bored hearing the same old Christmas stories and sermons? I don't see any value in Christmas.

I don't think about it. I didn't grow up with it. Never knew it existed until my late teens. I remember thinking it was some distant obscure practise by some tribe. If you read "christians practise christmas" in a textbook you have no idea what either of those words really mean. It's hard to fathom religion and religious behavior when you are not aware of it.

So the holidays, for me, is largely associated with school break and watching tv and reading books and occasionally traveling.

There is no religion associated with winter break at all. I don't practise christmas or even remember the day it happens. Back in the day, it annoyed me some because i forgot about it and went grocery shopping only to find the stores were closed. Thankfully, more stores are open these days.

historically, i have been generally annoyed by it. it is a holiday about a fake baby savior birth timed to coincide with other holidays to foster religious control that used to be too european or catholic for my country. i would have preferred my parents not lie to me about santa or jesus, but they did. what this says to me is "trust me... i WILL lie to you." i begrudgingly allowed it for my kids over this mild protest due to two merged families "traditions." my participation with family had been waning for a while (since about 2008 refused to help with the decorations, tree and lights, refused office parties that had themes alluding to it, etc.) about two years ago some orange blow hard told me i would be saying merry christmas again because he was "restoring" it. in response to that, i canceled every aspect of it, except for my acidic response. i now celebrate new year's as a present giving holiday with my kids. love me some consumerism to show my kids how much i love them. they can celebrate whatever they like with their mom and do celebrate something on the 25th, as she does, but it is not christmas as they don't believe in christ. the ex bemoans when i state that, but it is a fact. if you don't believe in the baby jesus christ as your lord and savior, you don't celebrate christmas. a facsimile of your own definition, sure, but not chrismas. i have seen plenty of folks here and elsewhere try to be nice about it or even enjoy it, a usurped pagan thing and all that they can feel good about... thing about that is, i am not a pagan either. when folks tell me merry christmas i respond, "i hope yours is good," if i don't know them. if i do and am itching for them to hear my views on the orange lump, i'll offer "happy new year." i would say happy holidays, but i don't celebrate hanukkah either and although i have no clue, kwanzaa seems to embrace "faith" of some kind. i am also sure that all of this is pointless and hard headed because no one cares about my little vendettas.

Christ who???....? Once again, it's party time, drink, eat and enjoy the time off. What's not to like???

Since the only person in my life is the dog Lily, holidays are nothing more than an inconvenience, christmas most of all.

Christmas is so commercialized and secular that I’m surprised you even ask. One would have to live under a rock to not notice that. I was dragged off to mass every year for one hour as a kid but it was a commercial holiday even then. And, mine was a very religious household. Bible scholars all agree that that if there is a Jesus he wasn’t born in December.

Its about the turning of the seasons and digging in deep, while waiting for spring. A good time to share a little love with friends and family, if desired.

I like the lights. Lucky most of my family is also non religious. So not much pomp. Maybe a tree, a dinner. Watching the parade. But I am on call, so I might be home, or not.

I don't buy presents I sometimes make cookies and pies and enjoy fattening meals and alcohol with friends and family. I enjoy the light displays which is only logical since it gets dark at like 430 and that is super depressing. I'm upset that I have to plan my grocery shopping around busy times and store closings for holidays. I tolerate my family's catholic beliefs and traditions because I am not persuasive enough to change minds and I just don't want to argue, I would rather eat that flavorless wafer and kinda nod and roll my eyes while hanging with family as they proclaim the reason for the season.

Part of it is because of Pope Julius 1 who moved Christmas from March to December. How a 'god' and the believers in it have no clear communication still boggles and befuddles me.
