Lets at least have some honesty here...

Perhaps we should subpoena "God" to defend this action. On failure to appear and testify, remove the phrase from the flag.

"Put up or shut up," I always say. 😄

It sucks, but they had already stipulated that it had to include "In God We Trust" so that's not unexpected. Although I disagree with the sentiment, I don't find it as offensive as the Confederate flag, so it's a step in the right direction. Removing IGWT can be taken on in the future.

4

Get used to it people, this is not going away anytime soon.

Great we re not racist we are delusional. What a great message to send with a new flag. Is is not discriminatory to advicate the Christian god? And no the "god" mentioned is not ambigious. We all know they are specifically refering to the Christian god.

Pretty sure it is ... but do you think Barr will prosecute?

So they went from slavery imagery to murder, conquest and inquisition imagery. In other words their new flag is just as bad.

And let's be honest here. If the SEC hadn't said "no championships will be decided in your state unless the flag changes" it would be the same damn flag.

3

Be better if the words were "IN US WE TRUST"

I think everyone is untrustworthy except for me and you... and I'm not that sure about me. 😄

@WilliamCharles Haha. I appreciate your trust of me. As for your uncertainty, I'm guessing you know yourself better than any one...lol

Happiy they finally got rid of the Confederate emblem.

"Happy"

oooh-eee, I feel so inspired ! (barf)

Maybe God is a magnolia tree. LOL

By law, the new flag cannot include the Confederate battle flag, and it must have the phrase, “In God We Trust.”
Law needs to be changed.

Not the Confederate battle flag, as I tell "history bluffs" that say it is history - called that in modern day, but it was only the battle flag of Lee's army of Northern Virginia. Adaptations of it flew at the war's end at the Southern capital. Always correct them on history.

@Beowulfsfriend

The new designation might be the Neo-Confederate battle flag, or the Neo-Confederate "Stars and Bars" (as "stars and bars" was also incorrectly applied if I'm not mistaken).

Choose your cancer.

Swapping one loser for another. 😆

I dislike that they made the phrase "IGWT" a "law" more than that they just used it. Making it a "law" that it has to be on there is completely against the constitution.

Which god are we trusting in? Do we see cops closing in on the suspect and taking time out to pray? I;m very upset by people or organizations who trust in god.

1

Which god? There are just so many to choose from?

1

But in WHICH God do they trust, after all there are approx. 300,000 Deities in Hinduism alone, and well over 30,000,000 Deities recorded as having been worshiped throughout human existence?
I suppose, upon hind-sight, it can be said that at least they are hedging their bets.....LOL.

Wonder if the FFRF will sue over the in god we trust?

Likely no. It's on our currency and is officially the national motto of the United States, reaffirmed by Congress in 2011 in a vote of 396-9!

1

To be honest about it with all that's going on I really don't give a f***. 🙄🤮

1

And a bunch of folks living the fairy tale were out at a nearby corner, yesterday, with signs and screaming about how "Jeebus is the answer!"

@MissKathleen Had I to been driving by, on a busy street, I would have asked what was it that they, or who was it that they were trying to reach, in deeply Christian west Florida.
I happen to "know" what the question is: "Who is your favorite fairy tale character, from the comic books?"

The Xians will cream themselves over how much they love this and demand it be made a requirement of all state flags.

When you say FFS to a trans woman we expect facial feminization surgery, so I had to look.
I'm disappointed.
I wish they'd put the old Proctor & Gamble logo on their flag.

The P&G or moon & stars? XD

@AtheistInNC Moon, stars.

@Willow_Wisp I figured as much, but also figured most here wouldn't know that P&G used to have that logo. 🙂

@AtheistInNC Yes I'm old, and yes this is a recent picture, not bad for 61 😀

@Willow_Wisp 61 is not old by today's standards. In 1900, maybe. Today? You are a spring chicken. 🙂

Well, they did away with the Stars and Bars.

Hmm, in Cthulu we trust?

0

Not surprising. It is, after all, the "National Motto" (replacing E pluribus unum) and is on our currency.
