A pastor told me today that he is sorry that I have not felt the love of god. Pastor, I am the one who is sorry.
I'm sorry you believe a god who does not seem interested in loving everyone.
I'm sorry you feel the need to apologize for this "all loving" creator.
I'm sorry your religion would have you believe people are incapable of loving each other without this watch-dog divinity.
I'm sorry your happiness in this life relies on hope of the next.
I'm sorry you can't see that we don't need a god to be good, or loved.
I'm sorry for all the wonder your faith would have you ignore in favor of fairy tales.
For all the confusion in doctrine.
For lies of zealouts.
For the guilt brought on by your own humanity.
For all the delusions your mind has been forced through fear to accept, you have my deepest sympathies.

Or an all seeing all powerful being, that allows so much evil and pain, to come to the innocent an defensless of all mankind

And the fact that many believers credit bad things happening to good people as a test of their own faith. How arrogant can a person get?

malibu64...Huh?

Beautifully written ❤️

What he really meant to tell you is he missed your money in the offering plate! Listen to a song by Johnnie Paycheck called, "The outlaws prayer", this was written about a true story of his adventures into the annals of church, in Fort Worth Texas, it pretty well says it all!

I'll have to listen to it myself. I'm from Texas myself that's why. Hehe ? Take care.

@ScienceVids Yes listen to it it's about when he was doing a package show in Fort Worth! If I knew how to post it here I surely would...

Totally and completely agree! Can't say anymore.

I was raised in Puerto Rico. Because the public education sucks and it can be even dangerous, my parents put me on a private, American, Catholic school. The nuns were from an American order and I cannot remember the name. The priests came from Spain and there were also lay teachers that were not religious, meaning that they were not priests or nuns.

One time they took all the male students in my class to have weekly lectures about masturbation. Most of us were laughing at it. It took over two weeks and this priest could not really explain masturbation. Under pressure of the students, one of them gets up from his chair and asked directly to the priest if masturbation was bad or sinful. The poor priest did not know where to put his face, totally embarrased. He said masturbation was not really sinful and other stuff that I did not understand. This was a long time ago so my memories of this are fading away.

This was in a time where the priests were getting away with sexual molestation and no one would dare to point out that some students were getting molested. I still don't know what the purpose of these anti masturbation classes was. I am glad I got out of that school the moment I had a chance to get out.

Theres a lot of insight in your post.

Some people's "happiness in this life relies on hope of the next" and they fret about how awful this life is compared to their fantasized next. Therefore, their happiness is robbed.

Perhaps these people should get into the real world, deal with the cards they have and not with the cards they wished they had. James

I could give a rat's ass what you, any of you, 45 the demonic hawg leading the free world, the queen, any dukes, princesses. duchesses, any of that upper 2% of American mobsters that steal the small man's money while the lie and live in luxury. I am for humanity. NOT their race, their belief, their money, or their status. I fight for those of us who cannot be heard. If I help or save anyone, I am a happy person. I allow NO one, not a mother, father, or some GOD to run my life. I prefer to fuck it up myself.

May I suggest that you don’t even bother yourself making yourself upset. Simply get the switch in your brain and switch it off, for your sake and it’s only about you. God won’t mind, he’s not there anyway. James

Do you know he thinks that way? What denomination? The Bible does not teach such things.

Your right. The bible doesn’t teach anything. It’s even confused itself with contradiction. James

I hatearguments that are totally emotional appeal.

Emotion, that’s where your problem is my friend. Simply apply logic, this quickly sorts out the shit. James

All 12’s. Just as well they were not bakers as with a backers dozen it 13. If this was the case there would be more of them. Spare me the thoughtplease. James

i hate judgemental arguments when no one knows on any level of emotion or science who is right or wrong. Treat them like humans for that is what they are, don't kick and beat them and make fun of them. None of what you do is productive. Perhaps you should volunteer at children's? A child dying is the loss of a human life at a minimum and should not be mocked and made fun of. This behavior is horrid.

God seems like a disturbed ex-girlfriend.

What God?

I hope you didn’t give him any money?

He is just sorry that you know more than he realizes. He will be out of support when the rest of his congregation wakes up to the fact. You should have told him to get a real job only to find out that he probably has no other skills other than his Sunday one. Never try and rationize or waste your efforts talking with these people.

A friend of mine while hauving a day out in Glasgow ways told by some soul beggers that the reason she was disabled was because she did not believe in gawd. Therevwas no discusion with my friend beforehand to establish her beliefs first.
Anyone else know of or had similar experiences.

I got kicked out of a youth group because I was gay and believed in a woman's right to choose. I was like 15 or 16 and the leader told the entire group I was a homosexual, that he didn't approve of me, and I shouldn't be there. I'm sorry for them because if they cannot accept who I am and love everybody, it is their own fault!

That was so cruel...thankfully you do not belong with 'their kind,' but, how hurtful! I feel that hurt and I wasn't even there!! I can still be shocked at the total lack of respect for one human being toward another! I hope you got past that asap!

2

At that point I might ask, "It sounds to me like you haven't either. Love doesn't come with condescension, so I'm guessing you're still trying to earn daddy's love."

2

Don't waste your time getting advice from a pastor. They are not free thinking. Their religious education clouds all other types of answers that might work than just those that religion approves. I would suggest a good friend or a counsler before a minister. Just my thoughts.

2

Fuckk his beliefs

2

That's a pretty tough move there. I agree with your statements. I don't know if i would ever be in a position to make all those bold statements directly to a Rabie, priests, preachers. Good for you.

2

They keep on saying he is a caring god and gives you free will but if you do not do what the bible saids you will got to hell to me that is not a caring god and it means you do not have free will

It's amazing that religious people think they have a monopoly on all things that are virtuous and no one else is capable. I've met some major assholes who are a big part of their churches, and I've met some amazingly kind and giving people that want nothing to do with religion. I judge people on how they treat others, animals, and themselves, and not what their religious beliefs are.

Great job buddy

I am also a skeptic regarding God, how & why so many of my friends have faith & believe so hard.
My belief is I am a human, and God doesn't make my choices. I think that's the difference: humanity is self fulfilling, not forced or lead to make a decision.
I think the book called "bible", was written many centuries ago by a culture of men (dominant), and used it (still) to control societies. And the jesus thing is to add more control (man again).
Very conflicting. I go back.& forth about my thoughts & feelings. Perhaps I'll find out like everyone else- while dying & death.

I think what they REALLY believe in, is belief.
