What's the last thing you said to the person you were leaving on the way out of your last relationship?

I am not willing to be around a moody, grumpy person.

" Good luck, because that's what it'll take; pure dumb blind luck with that new creep you picked up off a bar stool". Hmmm that implies that I was the old creep🙂 Oh well. I was right!

If I hadn't dropped dead, & my "family" wasn't out for my estate, I would have died a spinster.

My last break up (divorce) took months. But one of the last things I remember saying was, "I don't care, I'm still changing the locks on August 1st!" (He had just had a job and an apartment fall through. And he had been unemployed for four years. Not my monkey, not my circus.)

The last thing I wrote to my first wife was "Free, at last!! Free, at last!!

I don't remember exactly. It was hateful because I found out that while I was working out of town she was having and an affair with a co-worker of ours. The rub was that I had given her a key yoy apartment to get my mail and she and he went and had sex on my bed during lunch. BTW, he was married at the time.

You're a beautiful person and we are great friends but we just aren't good together as lovers.
(in fairness she was really hot, looked a lot like Barbie but she just didn't click with me, we are still friends)

I texted her that we should probably meet up to talk after she "accidentally" texted me a message meant for someone else that she didn't know how to break up with me. She did not respond. She waited until I was at work, got her stuff from my place, and left the key. Door was unlocked, since it can only be locked with the key from the outside. We never spoke after that text.

I don't remember, it was a hasty exit.

"Bye."

Then I watched him board a train.

You'll find someone to have kids with that will make you happy.

"We're just too different."

(We almost never raised our voices, likely because we didn’t care that much. So I absorbed what he’d said, and just stood up, and said,)

“That’s it.”

I was wondering what it would take to make me go through an abrupt cross-country relocation, and...that was it.

In 2010, my ex helped me pack up my farm house and drove me to the airport, then continued finding homes for our rescue dogs and racking mule, stored my stuff for me, despite my asking him to take it to Goodwill.

We hugged and said good-bye at the airport gate. I was leaving for a good reason (his extreme jealousy and losing our money online playing the forex while I was asleep), so I was ready to go.

Still thinking what am I going to say???... mmmhhh..... Nah, we have shared sooooo many things together, we don't deserve the slightest piece of negative vibe. We both agree on keeping the good memories.....oh is a long story, I could write a book !!! The finale is actually kind of nice

See you when I'm back!

Then she proceeded to run off and get hitched to some other guy. Oh, well. I guess long distance relationships are like cheap batteries. They don't last.
