His Mother told him , he couldn't because there would be no male to carry on the family name , so he decided to have a son . He got Mom pregnant . I was born female . Mom asked his what to name me , as they hadn't even picked out a female name . He says , we picked out a name , name her that anyhow . Johnny Cash wrote a song about the boy named Sue . Yeah , same thing , only in reverse . Year and a half later he had the son he wanted . He should have quite while he was ahead .

I’m the third daughter. They wanted to name me Jaimie but figured everyone would think they expected a boy. They named me after Scarlett’s sister in Gone With The Wind, which I thought was fine until mom said, “We named you after the wimpy sister.” WTF? Sometimes those offhand comments can dig deep.

Yay! I was lucky to be raised by sex-positive parents but many people were not. And the Purity Movement was and remains damaging for those involved.
@UUNJ my grandparents weren't sex positive or negative... They were educated and protective... Their motto was "no need to rush. " .. They were very smart and open minded...
