@MoonTigerII 120 years ago they said the telephone would dehumanize communication and would never have the intimacy and thoughtfulness and weight of the handwritten letter. The telegraph, too. Oddly, I think texting is a charming mix of both of those older technologies. It’s fine if you’re not into it, but if you’re genuinely confused why you’d get pushback when someone wants to communicate with you and you call their messages shallow, curt, and robotic... well, I don’t actually think you are confused. I love texting. It’s not the only way to communicate and sooner or later you have got to get in front of each other. I typically go from texting to short coffee date before I hear the guy’s voice.

@brainyactress You would drive 500 miles for a short coffee date in Ag before you would pick up the fucking phone??? Need a new screenname, quickly. If you say you have a 50 mile limit then you should have known from the start this post is not about you personally. Or if a guy drives that far to see you or any woman without hearing a voice, he should be kicked out of the gene pool.
