Reminds me of the wickedly subtle ancient Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times..."

And as we get older, health issues can make life real interesting...

I do not think it is a curse ,just reality made to look like a curse

I have sciatica and now I need hearing aids. Yes, this getting older stuff is a challenge.

It still (so far anyways) beats the alternative.

@RonWilliam53 The good still outweighs the bad. I'm kinda excited about the hearing aids, except for the expense.

@HippieChick58. A carpenter/woodworker/ bar musician, I hadn't heard birdsongs in the last 20 years until I got FREE hearing aids on Medicaid 3 months ago... What a TREAT! Hadn't been to a doctor in decades but now age is catching up to moi... Life'll Kill Ya, as Warren Zevon sang...

@MoonTigerII I noticed this year that I was not hearing birdsongs. I thought maybe it was the road construction that is going on all around my neighborhood, or just too busy/distracted. I'm not going to qualify for Medicaid for a long time, so I have to pay out of pocket for now. I may be able to get them through the VA, but time is of the essence, so this time I will buy and by the time the VA gets me approved I will need a new pair. I can't do my job (customer service for hospital billing department) since I can't hear everyone clearly on the phone.
