Who here performs acts of charity?
birdingnut comments on Jun 24, 2018:
I used to donate all the time, but I moved to Thailand in 2010 . Many of the charities I used to donate to were religion based, but I did volunteer to pick up trash in parks and national forests, and donated heavily to PETA and wildlife preservation organizations when I was last in the US.
birdingnut replies on Jun 24, 2018:
@ScientistV Not sure. The Thai king usually funds the national parks and foreigners aren't a part of the government.

birdingnut replies on Jun 24, 2018:
@SeeCanU Sadly, since I got intestinal cancer, my body has refused to let me eat it. The same substance that makes that bad smell must irritate the stomach lining or something because suddenly the odor sickened me instead of attracting me as before, and when I tried only one durian section, my cancer symptoms doubled. I hastily abandoned it for the moment. But as I keep taking cannabis oil and getting better, many severe food allergies I've had for decades have vanished. I read online that cannabis also cures food allergies, and basically makes your entire body function properly.

The books are excellent. I hadn't bothered to read them all my life, due to my scorn of the highly sentimental and inaccurate TV shows. I was shocked..they were EXCELLENT. I did the same thing with the Harry Potter series, turning up my nose at what I thought of as silly occult children's stories until 2014 when I was stuck in Malaysia, on Penang Island, for a week waiting on a visa. There was no wi-fi, so I wandered into a used book store, where I found the first Harry Potter book. After the first paragraph, I thought, "C.S. Lewis-inspired!" and I was hooked.

If you are asking if I have a college degree in ornithology, no. I have a Masters in English literature. I do read, and read my first bird book at five..the illustrated National Geographic children's North American birds book. Even though I was born and grew up in Haiti, of American missionary parents, I knew common North American birds before I'd ever seen them. I inherited my grandfather's old Peterson's North American bird field guide and some binoculars, so I was in business.

@MermaidSuzy888 I wrote a provisional patent and even lined up a company eager to license them, but changes in patent law have seemingly made it impossible to make any money through licensing. I don't have the extra cash to hire lawyers or do anything if a company decides not to pay me, because the laws no longer require them to. But I keep thinking that all those Americans who are overweight, or have with bad knees, who can't get out and exercise, would be able to do so. They're so fun to use, the problem is getting people to stop and give the gallopers back to me, and they often became belligerent when I try.

birdingnut replies on Jun 22, 2018:
@MermaidSuzy888 It is. I learned years ago to never lend my gallopers to anyone, even for a few minutes, because people then refuse to return them and sometimes become very angry. One thing the gallopers does is very strange; when people use them even for a few seconds, they wake up in the morning with hard, flat abs, their waists shrink, and they become limber. I can lay my hands flat on the floor and hold them there..no effort, and I'm 65. When I first moved to Thailand and hadn't made another pair of gallopers yet, my abs and waist went to ruin, despite my desperate exercise efforts, within two weeks. Another strange thing..using the gallopers puts peope into a kind a euphoria, I suppose due to pressure on certain chakra points. A number of them even staked out my apartment building house to try to persuade me to give them another turn on them, or to make them some. I don't have them licensed yet, so letting others use them is considered patent "disclosure."

@AmyLF Most cis hetero men are the predators, except for men with a high percentage of female traits (we're all on a gender trait spectrum). I even have enough male in me, as a partial transmale, to be the same way. Even if I have a crush on a woman and she becomes the aggressor and tries to chase me, I back off, and avoid her from then on. It's a red flag to males when a woman shows that she's heavy in aggressive male traits..signalling that she's likely to be less interested in giving up her career to raise his progeny and dedicate her life to him.

@maturin1919 Yup. Every time I see a profile without a photo or information. Most of the people are new, haven't read the FAQ, and don't know how the website works. They should pin something like what I say at the top of the discussion group. Most men don't even read profiles..just start hitting on the woman with the prettiest photo, but women care about the background of men they are considering dating. Their lives could depend upon it.
So what is the main reason most of you are on here?

I did not realize that this was a "dating site"- ?! Really-??
birdingnut replies on Jun 14, 2018:
Yup. But the website encourages people to make friends and have discussions first. You earn website points, and help other members get to know you better, when you write an informational profile that includes your hobbies and interests, and answer all the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member. Also, the website uses your profile to find member matches, so the more details you include, the better the match. Then you make comments and write your own posts to earn more points and privileges; for instance, at level two you can private email people. You get different perks with each level, and when you reach level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. To find members near you, click on the "Meet" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. Or click on the "About" button at the top of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial. Click on the 'Meet" button to find member matches Links to FAQ: https://agnostic.com/faq, and a website tutorial: https://agnostic.com/welcome

@Marz If you read the articles, or at least the links, you'll see that cats carry deadly diseases and the only reason they catch mice is because the toxoplasma parasites need cats in their life cycle, so they force infected mice to show themselves to cats and act tame. When the cats consume the mice, they become infected and pass on the parasite. They can stay in cat feces for three months, and infect wildlife. Cats aren't EVER "needed" to kill animals. As for snakes, any snakes found in US houses would have to be harmless black rat snakes, hunting mice. You should read the provided links for yourself before commenting.

Just try it once.
