What's your most outlandish belief? (Mine is, I believe crop circles are not man-made.)

I don't think I have any. I believe in aliens that's for sure though lol

They seem to have taken over our government.

@kltuckmn Therec are aliens in the WH. They come from the planet fuck you

I believe that for me to believe that what I believe is outlandish I would need to believe it’s not true so it’s not somthing I believe while anything I do believe is not outlandish because I believe it, or so I believe. I do however believe I used the word believe 10 times in this unbelievable thread.

3

I believed that babies come from anus(deceived by my big brother) ??

Some seem to.

Bald patches on men are solar panels for, well, you know.

3

@Redcupcoffee you gotta think ? woman is pretty hot though?????

I actually thought of another one that a friend recently said to me: he believes Trump and Brexit are, in the long run, good for society, because any perturbation of the system is more likely, assuming it doesn't destroy the system, to create a healthier, more stable system in the long run.

@Redcupcoffee I'm still up in the air, because I believe it's about 50/50 to just destroy the world. Maybe that's another of my outlandish beliefs, though. ?

I do not have any "outlandish beliefs". I believe the most outlandish claims should be investigated. That includes crop circles, UFO's, etc. THEN I go with the preponderance of evidence and am willing to entertain any evidence to the contrary.

@Redcupcoffee I am not here to entertain the foolish.

I came here expecting intellectual stimulation from people with superior intellect. What I have found is something very different.

I believe that humanity has exactly zero chance of populating the universe, and that we therefore should concentrate our efforts on creating self replicating machines that are creatures of space, and use them to seed the universe with life.

This might be another outlandish thought, but I don't find this sentiment to be outlandish at all. I think you're spot on.

I hope they can duplicate Meg Ryan when she was 19

Mine's closer to what you were intending, I think. Despite everything - even knowing there's literally a biological basis for the phenomenon - I believe in out of body experiences. I've had a few by actually causing them intentionally, and in each case, it seemed as if I could talk to people and explore regions of what I presume is my own mind, and I found it to be extremely powerful. I like this kind of question, thank you for posting it.

Yup, that's pretty outlandish........

Despite having never fallen, I still panic walking across slippery logs, suspended high above a raging river or creek with sharp rocks, rapids and waterfalls below. Glittering rapids below me are mesmerizing.

In the middle, I freeze, trembling, unable to take another step. It's a panic attack.

In 42 years of hiking, I have never fallen. Does this matter? NO.

So, I shakily drop to hands and feet- with a heavy pack throwing off my balance- and carefully creep across the log like a baby bear. Don't look down.

It's humiliating.

That sounds like a reasonable fear, I'd probably do the same thing....

@Dhiltong

Thank you.

Other hikers stride across.

Rarely does someone come back to lend a hand. My favorite hiking partner, Karen, watches to see if I'm okay and helps me across.

"You are a kind and wonderful person," I told Karen. "Thank you for helping me. I deeply appreciate you."

That trump really IS a stable genius.

that our whole universe is a holographic simulation inside a black hole.

It is a high school kid proyect gone wrong ?

@IamNobody I thought it was on a shelf somewhere but got a C-... lol

The problem with that is the computational power requirements for irrational numbers. Nice idea, though.

3

that there is good in the world

@Redcupcoffee as delusions go its fairly wide spread

3

I strive to live an evidence, facts and data based "belief" system. If there is none that can be shown to exist, I reject the "belief" until some are presented. It doesn't bother or frighten me to say "I don't know".

3

That humans will become redundant and robots will do all labor. Just a few will have all the money. The robots will eliminate the few.

trump was secretly murdered by the kgb, the body stuffed with dog excrement and is being remotely controlled by Russian operatives. Only rational explanation for his actions.

2

I believe Bigfoot exists in the north-west. Other places? Not so much.

I want to believe in the multi-verse theory so this crappy life means I have a better one in another universe.

I believe in ET, I've seen things that can't be explained.

I believe that we might actually be living in some sort of Matrix set up, that the world as we know it is actually some sort of simulation that we believe is real but we're really just experiencing a construction that's completely in our minds.

@Hercules3000 I was referring to the movie The Matrix to explain what I believe. I doubt we are used as batteries for machines, but I think it's possible that our physical experience is actually more a holographic experience that we believe is real.

@Hercules3000 I am reading a book that describes scientific evidence that our brains store memories like holographic film stores holographic images. My theory originated with this book which asserts that we may be experiencing a holographic existence. I don't believe the theory can be proven conclusively any more than the existence of God can, but I believe it's a possibility. It presents an explanation for things like telepathy and premonition, two things that I have personally experienced. It's a fascinating idea, either way, and made a great movie.

@Hercules3000 It's called The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot

@Hercules3000 I have no idea how. I'm open to both ideas, but lean toward a collective construction. If you were all a construction of my imagination, you would probably all be doing what I want . . . unless I wanted you all to not be doing what I want . . .

@Hercules3000 Sometimes in the mornings when I was a kid, I would get butterflies in my stomach, as though something exciting was going to happen, though I would not know of anything that was supposed to happen. In the afternoon or evening of that day, there would be an unexpected surprise, like an unscheduled visit from a relative. Sometimes the phone would ring and I would know someone had died. I was right every time. I moved to Korea and I was checking my email one day and I expected to see an email telling me my grandma had died. There was nothing. The next morning I woke up to find an email from my mom telling me my grandma had died. Once I was walking down the street and I caught a glance at my parents' vehicle but couldn't see inside. I knew where they'd been and where they were going and knew which of my two younger brothers was in the van with them. I walked to my brother's apartment and asked him where he'd been and was right. That was more recent. The premonitions have gotten more detailed over time.

Occasionally as a child I knew what people were going to say before they said it but that phenomenon has been most active over the past couple years. I will have an idea come to me only to have the person I'm with express that idea a second later. Other times I just know what they are thinking even though they don't say it. Those times are often confirmed through actions the person displays. I've been wrong sometimes so I've learned to be careful not to assume I'm right until I see evidence that I am. My first husband noticed this ability but I thought it was just normal female sensitivity to people. I've since learned it is far more in depth than most other women's sensitivities.

@Hercules3000 Lol. Surely not.

@Hercules3000 Wait until I can levitate and move objects through telekinesis before you start getting excited.

That World religions may have been influenced by an aggressive and controlling Alien race

How about Atheist/Agnostic humans may have been influenced by a progressive and well evolved alien race?

@patchoullijulie interesting idea for sure

@patchoullijulie, @Hercules3000 perhaps if they were behind our creation ,we are an experiment

It has been well documented that close examination of crop circles identifies some crop circles as definitively NOT man made.My most outlandish belief is that most people recognize me as being attractive and clever.

OCJoe Level 6 Sep 17, 2018

It would be nice to have some back up for that statement. I believe that the documentation is the opposite. [en.wikipedia.org]
Wikipedia has a long list of references to read.

@Hercules3000 OCJoe says that it is well documented that they are not not man made. If you look at my link there are lots of references to say that they are man made. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

2

I believe that the Dolphins will win another Super Bowl in the next three seasons. I also believe that the Marlins will win a World Series within five seasons and D Wade will end up in the Heat front office after this season. Oh I also believe I can out out fish anyone on this site. ?

@Hercules3000 heck yeah ?

2

I believe that good will prevail despite all evidence to the contrary.

@Redcupcoffee That is what I keep telling myself, but Drumpf...

Wow! Now that is outlandish! ?

2

I believe the earth is alive and will kill us all one day.

Based on the fact that over 99% of all species that once lived on this earth are extinct, and that we are quickly altering the environment, your belief is a well founded. The earth has an active biosphere and it is reasonable to assume a time will come when it will no longer be hospitable to human kind.

@Redcupcoffee I do also.

2

I think there interdimensional creatures that exist within our planetary space.
