On the serious side everyone thinks along the lines of this meme. They also credit Mary with the invention of the line "with child by the Holy Spirit" in order to save herself. The simple truth is two fold.

  1. Gospel writers wanted Jesus to be the son of God so badly.
  2. .Joseph would have been declared to be full of the Holy Spirit of God.

People in every era have had a baby in the works before the marriage ceremony. The "mystery" of the Virgin Birth is that there was none. Birth, yes. Virgin, no.

Actually historical evidence of the birth and existence of jebus is little to none.

@jlynn37 You are correct. His name as we know it is actually Greek. Many people in Mexico and Spain have the name Jesus.
