I'm in Texas too, behind the pine curtain of East Texas. Born here, moved away a lot, back after 35 years for mama. Happy that my mom and brother are free thinkers, but why do "they" care "which church do you go to"? However, I am very lucky to have found an enclave of open minded artsy folks to hang out with. I still find it ironic that the religious ones are the judgmental assholes. Why is free thought so threatening?

@StrongBow Hey, my rather 'out-spoken and forthright' daughter, Lorrae, was once subjected to some Pulpit Pounding Priest who sprinkled her with his 'Holy (???) Water while she was undergoing Chemotherapy in 2000, I nearly peed my pants when she writhed around in the hospital bed yelling " Take it away, take it away, it burns."
That Bible-Bashing Wanker got the best and fastest version of the 'Bum's Rush' that I've ever seen from the Nursing Staff and we all, including the Nursing Staff, had a bloody great laugh afterwards as well.
Not too bad a job at all for a 15year old child I reckon.

@StrongBow Yep, I was and still am always proud of her but sadly, she lost her battle with Lymphoma in January, 2001. I was by her side 24/7 from diagnosis right through to the end, the very bitter end I might add.

That is not the time...they are helpless when leaving us. It takes courage but stating your position and owning it, leaves people with no way to attack. (Most of the time). Some people are just best left with their illusions, lol!

@Freedompath oh dear you took my joke there WAY TOO seriously.... to make this simple for you to understand me I was the most pleasant and accommodating to my narcissistic abusive controlling mother on her death bed... sooo I can extend it to the others as well.

@demifeministgal Glad to hear..,unfortunately ‘way too serious,’ is my nature! And, I did miss the joke, and I do get jokes most of the time! Lol

@StrongBow 1. one can find dictionaries online from one's phone as well. 2. that is indeed their attitude. that does not stop us from trying to correct it.

I love how atheism automatically = devil worship. 😂

I have actually had people, after hearing my proclamation that I am Atheist, say, "Wow, but you are such a nice guy".... Like Atheists are all people of low morals.

I'm glad Jesus loves them all... Personally I think they are all assholes!
