When did you realize you were old?

Me: When I would rather stay in on the weekends than going out.

I'm 52, and I still haven't realized it. Hopefully I never will!

I am afraid that you will at some point in your aging process. Growing old is not the problem. The complications along the way are.

@jlynn37 I'm hoping to die before I realize......or ACT like I'm old.

@AzVixen52 Growing old is not to be despaired of. It is a privilege not given to everyone.

@AzVixen52 I do agree with your statement and I feel the same.

Wow, I just read your profile and at 45 , you consider yourself old?

@Redcupcoffee Touché.

After my wife took off with my daughter and filed for divorce. I went grey after that.

That sucks

Yeah. It really did. @Rudy1962

When the kids at work who are half my age bitch about being old, I tell them to STFU. I'm not old yet, even if my back sometimes tries to tell me otherwise.

A week from today, I will turn 60. I'm still not old.

Welcome to 60, my birthday was in January. I am the same way. Am I really old? And then I realize I must be 😟

I agree with the "age is just a number" people. I know 40-year-olds who are old and I know 70-year-olds who can rave with the best.

I was training MMA about 10 years ago and these kids were getting these nasty injuries, but recoverying pretty quick. I knew if I got even a back sprain, my days as a fighter were gonna be numbered. I felt old right then....haha

@Stevil You aren't kidding! Funny side note, the very night I wrote this, I was moving some only moderately heavy stuff and I tripped over something, but didn't fall...and my back went out...haha!

By your measure, I was old back in college. 😉

I looked...you are only 45 years old....that is not old. Wait until you are Medicare, then you might be old.

When my desire to not have a hangover or a DUI compelled me to almost always avoid drinking.

Menopause and it’s lovely symptoms.

When I look in the mirror and wonder “How the hell did that happen—and so quickly?”

When having fewer wrinkles and not wanting skin cancer became more important than being tan.

When being comfortable and taking care of my feet and hips outweighs choosing 3-4 inch heels.

Some of the things I notice might be more an effect of maturity as opposed to feeling or being past the middle point.

@Redcupcoffee There are gorgeous shoes in the world that don't put you on your tip toes. I know, beautiful as you are, that you know this! 🙂

I can't read without my glasses. I wake up super early. My hair is more grey than brown. My injuries don't heal as fast. I still enjoy sex but the recovery time is longer.

When you realize the Music is way too Loud!~~~~

The people around you look like they could be your daughter or son!

Staying home more than going out, even on the weekends!**

LOL!

When I noticed how young all police officers look!

I'm 51 and filing for disability.

When I asked a younger work colleague if they had ever seen the matrix. He was 19 and said that he doesn't really watch 'old' films. This happened last year. I wanted to punch him. No way is the matrix an old film

I think punching him would've been justified. Even in court.

When I got diagnosed with a life-threatening disease like leukemia. Most of my friends/exes have been younger than me.

what do you mean ... OLD ?
Try as hard as you like , you won't catch me up.

1

When I noticed that the majority of the people who were adults when I was a small child are now dead.

2

When it took two shoulder surgeries just to keep working out, 10+ years ago. =[

I'm old? OK, OK, I'm old. I think it was kind of the same thing someone else mentioned below; jumping down from even relatively low heights became daunting, running turned into very cautious loping, climbing ladders is scary, routine things that I didn't much think about doing when I wasn't "old." Then there was the realization a few years back that the little baby girl I used to cradle in my arms was a grown woman with a whole life of her own.

When my new definition of multitasking is coughing ,sneezing and peeing at the same time.

Lmao that’s good!

What you said!

I agree when staying home and watching Netflix sounds better then going out. But the biggest thing is now I grown a little when I get up off the floor from working on a electrical outlet.

3

...when I realized I was more mature than my father.

When my 17 year old nephew saw a female friend that is in his college class and told me to go ask her out because she is nice and she an older woman. When I told him that she was too young for me, he replied no she is not, she is older than me and starting college late, she is 23. I pointed out to him that I am more than twice her age. His answer was; " oh yea I keep forgetting that you are old."

I woke up with a sleep injury. HOW do you injure yourself sleeping???

Wild dreams?

I got a core muscle injury while sleeping. I couldn't put on or take off footwear for a week.

Don't feel bad I injured myself backing up the car

When I started thinking home appliances were fun to look at.
