OK. How many people come to this site to find a partner? A kindred atheistic spirit? Frustrated with dating sites crowded with choices of people who hold religion in high regard? They reject you automatically, don't they? An atheist! They must be a communist or something.
On this site, honestly, the chances of meeting someone within driving distance is slim. We are from all over the globe.
Now, I have to take a bit of my own advise! I have come away from dating sites, sorely disappointed. AFter a considerable amount of time on two sites, POF and OKCupid, I came away feeling hope for a partner frustrated. I was not a good fit. At least, on this site the folks are articulate writers and thinkers, who might possibly appreciate an intelligent woman.
But, I did not come here with this intention in mind. I was curious to see what others believed. But, now, the opportunity presents itself, slightly. Within 200 miles is OK with me!

I joined this site in desperation and in pain shortly after separating from my partner of 20 years. It was probably not the right time to start looking for someone "special", but then, the loneliness felt like it was strangling me. There are very few females from my country on this site, and most of them visited the site 6 + months ago.
Having gone through the heartache of a failed marriage I must admit that I am jaded, hurt, and that I currently oscillate between loneliness and craving love and hating the whole world. It's kind of difficult to attract somebody if you're feeling like this.

'Ya just have to get thru it. It is not a failed marriage which is the concept of the absolute. The marriage ran its course. People evolve away from each other. The concept of forever is by virtue of our life span an unattainable goal, for those of us who understand this. Marriage is a contract which can be modified on a personal & legal negotiated level. Oath? Hormones are not a consideration in an archaic idea meant to provide offspring with a means of security. I stayed legally wedded for financial reasons as my spouse was on his last whatever so......but I renegotiate the contract & pursued my whims.
I discovered this site while browsing a dating site dominated by devout Filipinas (every second profile stated something about the fear of god). I made the point that I am an atheist and explained this in simple terms. Many Filipinas in this site don't know the term and are too phlegmatic to even search for the meaning.
I gave up on the site and joined here.
I must have sent about 2 personal messages to profiles I was interested in.

One problem we find a lot of sand, never a culture pearl even!!!
Intelligence does not make one a capable friend or companion, it helps!
Too many have fantasies that can never be found!
Too many want the white knight and Prince Charming to come and sweep them off their feet!
To back Elvis left the building so many years back for the vast majority of us!
Dating sites are like our health system it keeps you wanting, hoping, sick, and dreaming of a cure for what ales you!
