I don't have a problem with nudity. (most here don't).

I have a problem with photos that I don't know the source of being shared on a site I use all the time.

Asking for an opt out - in case those groups ever run into any trouble - isn't a bad idea in my book - it's just prudent.

The few photos I've seen have looked really young. And being associated simply by sharing a site with them - doesn't make me comfortable in the least.

At least at Pornhub they vet the ages of the people who engage in films and photos.

Would I still be permitted the occasional rant about 45? I try to keep them infrequent.

Members get the photos in their feeds and also by following members into the groups (accidental basically).

Even if you are opted out of a group (as I am) - you can still follow another member in.

You think you've gotten an alert for something in your regular feed - but nope it's naked pics.

An Opt Out would prevent this.

It is a hazard of looking at other member profiles or of "Following" a member whose content you enjoy and finding out they post or at least "like posts" in those groups.

Now granted you can leave those other groups or stop following someone you like - if you can find the correlation.

I suspect it has something to do with site algorithms too - but not one clue about that.

I don't have a lot of trouble with it myself - except for following newbies in when I'm reading a post on a profile and don't pay attention - but others absolutely do.

I run across it searching scammers. That's fine I expect some of that. But what I see I find appalling and I don't like being associated with it at all.
I suspect there are photos of underage persons on site.
No one is vetting them. (Unlike a site like PornHub for instance that confirms their actresses are of age.).

It can have to do with members you follow (who you are friends with) belonging to a group.
Do you dump the friendship because they like to participate?

Some folks are fed a steady diet even though they do NOT want to see it. An Opt Out would fix it.

I have never seen any of this sort of thing here.

@PondartIncbendog I made the mistake of installing a full length mirror in my bathroom...a big mistake! I keep my eyes closed until I’ve got a large bath towel wrapped around me!

My guess is you stick to the groups you picked and don't follow members who participate in these groups.

That's usually the way people get submarined with the stuff they don't want to see.

And yes even opting out of the groups themselves apparently doesn't do a good enough job of it.

@bingst I can attest, that this will not, in fact, block you from seeing those photos. I blocked every group I could find, still showing boobs and butts.

@bingst Exactly you can get an alert - from someone you follow that leads you right into a group you have hidden from view.
The Opt Out should solve this.

It is posted to specific groups but the content appears in folks feed too.

I personally dislike that posts in group are public and anyone on the site can see tgem or comment on group posts of groups they are not part if.

No read bingst and CommonHuman's comments and screenshots - if it were that easy I would post a tutorial. I have done that before for other issues people wanted to get around.

This requires help from administration.

@RavenCT - I certainly agree and there are things that I would find offensive.

However, I would rather risk running into offensive things now and then than be in a space so heavily moderated that anything could be taken down because it's offensive to anyone. There be tyranny further down that path.

And yes I have hidden those groups already - it doesn't prevent wandering in by clicking on the wrong thing.

Different coding would help those who really object.

You don't have to belong to those groups to see them. I've been trying to figure out forever how they keep popping up.

It depends on what electronics you use to browse with and how you utilize the site how much of this you'll run into.

Definite priority to choices.

I know which groups I do or don't want to see.

Same with my block list.

My Follow list should Never override those choices - but it has been.

Somehow you are missing the algorithm feeding you a steady diet - kindly read what CommonHuman and bingst posted - it exists! A few screenshots make it readily believable what some members are getting daily (and not by choice in some cases).

No even when that is done the nudes are still in the general sort see my screenshot I have opted out of those groups.

@RavenCT i see one pic of boobs, is this the barrage of nudes? I must confess that I haven't seen this before and I really don't consider a tiny thumbnail with boobs something THAT objectionable, just don't open it if nudity offends you.

I have learned it's impossible to "unsee" photos.
(Remember I do scammer searching I see way worse than what's seen in these screenshots all the time - I hit XXX sites all the time because of image search results - so don't think I'm all uber sensitive - I have a fantastic sense of humor - but I also understand some folks don't need boobs and bums with their morning coffee.

I'm simply looking for solutions. I heard about something bothering some members and I'm looking for a solution.

Having an opt in/opt out harms no one. It allows those who want to participate to do so. Those who don't no longer see the content.
