I haven't felt the need for prayer in more than 20 years. I am 100% convinced there is no god. I wouldn't want to meet a god that allows suffering like the human condition. I do not pray that I will be alive and well instead I listen to doctors (not the TV quacks) and wash my hands as well as stay home.

When one thinks they're talking to God, they're really just talking to themselves. There's a meme that believers hold on to--one that gives them reassurance--that nonbelievers eventually abandon their doubts and seek God in times great stress or at the end of their lives. I'm doing more meditation along with denials and affirmations. Allergy season is here as well, so I often have to remind myself that my occasional scratchy throat and slight congestion doesn't necessarily mean that I'm a goner. So far so good. Gratitude does create positive conditions within our minds. Expressing gratitude for your current state of relative health is always positive, whether through prayer to a higher power or conversation with another person, both have equal value.

not me I know I will die sometime nothing to prevent it. You can not take risk eat as good as you can and hope some disease did not take you out.
