Agnostic.com

I have access to 4 or more browsers on my computers. In each one I have to actually write "agnostic.com" in the search in order to get this site. If you only write "agnostic" you get endless jargon into the meaning of the word. Once I am able to see and choose agnostic.com it appears on my browser page for a while, then it is gone and I have to go through this same process again. This only happens with agnostic.com.

Anyone else have this problem or know an answer as to why?

Have you tried spewing profanities at it?

Sorry - that's the only technique I know. For anything more, I have to call a teenager.

@AmyTheBruce

Hilarious! Thanks for the belly laugh.

I usually save the "spewing forth of profanities" for other situations and in those case they tend to become very explicit, like when my alarm clock decides to go off at what ever time suits it for example, or ( as happened a while back) the head of the hammer decided to come adrift and smash its way through a window behind me.
Never again shall I purchase a hammer with a wooden handle, I've now gone '21st. Century" and bought one with a molded synthetic handle, the old hammer head has been given a 'Christian burial.' i.e. it is now awaiting resurrection in the scrap metal bin where, when needed it will be 'converted' by the fire of my forge and live again as something new....LOL.

I bookmarked Agnostic.com on my computer. Never have that problem.

Bookmark the site in you browser. Do you have chrome browser?

4

No. I bookmark.

3

Hey, have you tried book marking it? I have the link saved to my windows start screen. BTW I can't get A/N recently know anything about that?

I can't get A/N either David. Another friend of mine that used to be on the site told me they shut down.

@DenoPenno Damn We both have alot of friends there or not there as it may be. I will make an adjustment here on this sight so people can find me.

I have this function called "bookmarks" in my browsers. It takes me straight here without typing. 🤣🤣

3

Shouldn't you be typing it on the address line rather than as a search?

2

Firefox and Chrome flavors both have the bookmarks toolbar, which you can fill up with folders and sort scads of bookmarks by category. I've got 13 folders and hundreds of bookmarks, and back them up periodically for when I update my OS. Easier than searching every time you want to browse.

Exactly what I was about to say

I just type "ag" in the address bar and it brings it up. I don't delete my history though.

I have alternate browsers on my phone for reading need articles without having to subscribe and one blocking browsers for streaming. I only use Chrome for everything else.

I only type "ag" in the address field and it spells out the address. It sounds like you're not set up right. Any of the browsers should learn your habits.

I have multiple browsers too. I use them for testing web page scripting.

I could say that it was god sending you a message... But I doubt you would buy into that.

Check your browser(s) to see if it is set to automatically erase cookies upon closure. Other than that... You can add it to favorites or a toolbar and just click the link. Mine automatically logs me in every time.

Well all I have done is once I got on to Agnostic.com I clicked on the Favourites icon thingy ( a little star shape btw top right hand of your page) and it is now accessible to me without needing to type it in every time.

With some browsers, including Chrome, instead of adding the ".com" and pressing Enter, you can skip the ".com" and press CTRL-Enter. Agnostic CTRL-Enter adds the ".com" automatically.

I type ag and agnostic. Com comes up..

Well, glory be. I just tried using you method of typing "ag" in Firefox and it came right up. Maybe I didn't know this coz I don't live in West Bubble Fuck, NY. 🙂

I use Goggle Chrome. It gives that option of permanent icons on the main screen in which a often visited web site (this one), can be stored and clicked when so desired. With Chrome, you can also save a site to the bookmark bar...in both instances, you do not have to type in an address.

I do the same thing. They are registered as shortcuts as soon as I open chrome to the most used sites of mine. 🙂

What operating system, including version?
Which broswers?
Can you try it with all plugins, wigets, extensions, disabled?
I tested it on firefox its fine. I get a login page.

I have Firefox, Edge, Google, and Chrome. They all do this and my OP is Windows 10 home. I also have Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise. They all do this to me but only with Agnostic.com. Every other site works just fine.

@DenoPenno ok. But google is not a browser...

Does it still happen after you disable all extensions and backgrounds? After it dissapears what do you see for firefox and chrome? Close all browsers and other windows and opened them fresh. Only the brower window should be open for this test.
Before you close all windows, check system memory and note how much you have free. Also note how much free harddrive space you have.
If all doesnt eork still, reboot win10. And try again.

@MakeItGood . . . the Linux user (me since the 90s) 'winblows' meme :
"You moved your mouse -- you must reboot for this to take effect" 🙂

I use Firefox and have up to 32 links to sites I go to most often on my home page.... All I do is open my home page and click on the site icon and everything else is taken care of for me and I get logged into this site automatically. Firefox works with all operating systems and if used with Linux nearly immune to all viruses out there because there are so many different types of Linux (Debian, RPM, etc) that most hackers ignore it to go for the easier and more common hacks with Windows and IOS....

I also type in agnostic.com wherever I go. I have taken to saving the site under my shortcuts in chrome so no additional typing. And at times, I save my username and password so it is just a few clicks. Do you have any shortcuts saved?

Yes.

Level 8 huh, how's the air up there?

Try updating Firefox, the latest one shows your most visited sites on the home page with icons, by default.

True, but my icon for Agnostic.com keeps disappearing.

@DenoPenno Could be an issue with your device.
