I am writing to all members that can read my post.
I had this app for a long time now, but not until today I decided to make it my point of conversation with other people that think like me. It gets lonely when you realize that is hard to find people that are not following some type of religion. What is weird is that is better to keep your mouth shot and don’t get into arguments because they can retaliate. If is a coworker that is cause for harassment. If is your landlord he can make your life hard, and so on.
I don’t have the points for me to communicate with any of you. I just wanted to say HI! From San Diego, California

Welcome to the asylum. Enjoy your stay.

Go at your own pace. You don't owe anyone an explanation for anything.

Me, personally, I don't have any problem engaging with believers. They don't scare me, and if I'm in the mood, I'll give them back even better than I get.
I don't like that they have any sense of entitlement that they can get away with their delusional bullshit, and I'm not afraid to say so.

They piss me off. They should know that.

Yeah, WHY FFS, hide in the closet when the Light of Day belongs to EVERYONE without exception or exemption.
Instead, come out into the Light, stand up, be counted and in doing so we will all be honouring our Atheist/Agnostic predecessors as they truly should be honoured.

Welcome to the 'family' friend.
Though on the idea of staying silent in the face of Faithfool retaliations, I prefer to take them on and give them a full broad-side rather than merely letting them think they have free rein.
They have ruled the world, imo, for far, far too long, time has come to shut them down, take NO Prisoners and offer them the same mercies that they showed our Atheist/Agnostic predecessors in the past, i.e. NONE at all.

You just simply cannot help yourself, now can you, he, he.

@Jolanta As I so often TRY to tell people I bend NO knee to man, Sky Daddy, etc, etc.
And most definitely NOT to any Faithfool.

Hi, I understand you're situation. I live in the Bible belt ( West Virginia) very tough to find like minded people...

Same from n.c. I must admit I'm a bit of a boring person and I found that I don't hang out with a lot of religious folks because of their excessive alcohol and drug use and overall Recklessness. I find that kind of funny.

left WV years ago....best move I ever made

and FYI these ppl are just like others some are snarky and some contradict everything because they know best and some are funny or sweet so don't let them make you upset if I don't like the way a conversation is going I just bow out ....nothing to get upset about ....differences are good and make life interesting

Hello!
I'm glad that you found this group.
I discovered it a few months ago and it has added to my life.
We are all different and our circumstances are also obviously different.
I don't gfeel, contrary to what some people hink, that we must be confrontational.
Sometimes our situation won't allow it. Other times, it just depends on the person we are talking to. So I wouldn't feel bad about not being confrontational and not admitting to the world your beliefs.
Thank you for sharing.

I used to keep my mouth shut but when you think about it...only one person can offend all those people who get easily offended...and that is the person staring at them in the mirror. No need to get into an argument when you are certain in your position and have done your research. I always get a kick out of asking Christians about original sin. They claim it is the reason there had to be a savior...so what would happen if the entire "original sin" concept was never written in the Genesis account? Well...funny thing is...it's not in there! There is no condemnation implied or expressed from the Elohims (Plural emphasis added) to Adam/Eve when translated literally from the Leningrad Codex (ya know...the source from which the KJV was translated from). This leads to one very interesting question to ask them....just how did "original sin" become documented into a infallible holy book? Welcome to the club!

I always just ask them instead of all the S+M insanity (killing your own son, who is really YOU, etc.) if god can do anything, why not simply say "I forgive you"? Why all the genocidal lunacy?
