Do you believe that there is life after death
I think we live on in other people's memories but no I do not think we continue to be conscious after we die. I think that is ok. I would rather people remember me as a good person anyway. The only point to be conscious after death is to either learn or be able to make actions occur in some fashion.
Years ago , I had a neighbor , whom I seldom spoke with , who told me he had died in hospital , while being treated . He was resesitated . He said he saw , "the light at the end of the tunnel ," shutting down . But he no longer fears death . Only person I've ever spoken with , who's actually been there .
In a word, "No", not in any significant way like believers think we live on. I've heard that some people who worship tech are planning to live forever, in some sense, by having their brains hardwired to computers before they die so they can experience " the singularity". What a creepy concept...
If I were to die right now, and you didn't, up to the point of my death, I would believe you would still have life after I die. What's after my, natural body death, for all I care, my cognition capability will be in non-existance with the non-existent flying spaghetti monster sky God once and forever.
