Dune

Which version?

@Mokvon what?

@hippydog there are 2 versions of the movie. I own both. Even on the 1984 david lynch version there are 2 the theatrical and the 3 hour director's cut. But the 8 hours version made for the syfy channel is a good film as well.

@Mokvon ive seen both. Many times.. i can watch either one.

The Matrix Trilogy - The Princess Bride - oh and "The Quiet Man" at least once a year on St. Patrick's Day - because my parents loved that crazy movie.

There isn't a movie in this world that i can watch over and over, would soon get bored. There are thousands of good movies to see so I don't want to waste my time with re watching anything.

Perhaps an interesting twist would be to elaborate on WHY a certain movie resonate with us. We all are different, we all have reasons. There is no right/wrong answer here.

The list already available by other combined is interesting. But my favorite is a foreign film from 1998 Chinese film "The Emperor and the Assassin" it is a film with many levels. A story within a story.

I don't feel like answering this again... it has been asked a number of times already.

Catch 22. I have seen it 11 times. It is time for others to watch it that many times.

Casablanca is my favorite movie, but I don't watch it often — specifically because I don't want to get sick of it. I rewatch it every couple of years. I like to let the jokes fade from my memory so the quips are fresh when I next watch it. (It's not truly a comedy, but it's a very funny movie for the first half or two-thirds of it.)

Here's a quick, incomplete list of movies off the top of my head that I like to watch repeatedly (though not too frequently):

CLASSICS

  • Casablanca (1942)
  • Dr. Strangelove (1964)
  • Rear Window (1954)
  • It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
  • The Wizard of Oz (1939)

COMEDIES

  • The Wedding Singer [1998]
  • Wedding Crashers (2005)
  • Young Frankenstein (1974)
  • Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

ADULT FILM

  • Behind the Green Door (1972)
  • Candy Stripers [1978]

ACTION

  • The Matrix (1999)
  • True Lies (1994)
  • Total Recall (1990)

ANIMATED

  • The Iron Giant (1999)

I LOVE The Iron Giant.

@Cabsmom It is wonderful, with a strong plot and frank discussions about death and what it means to be a good person, and implicitly dealing with freewill. And Vin Diesel voices the titular character. What's not to love?

I've got to think about this...

The Shawshank Redemption
Notting Hill
Pretty Woman
Jurassic Park (original)
Sweet Home Alabama
Legally Blond
True Lies
Star Wars (4,5,6)
Remember the Titans
Radio

I'm sure there are many others

wish I could tell you that Andy fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but prison is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile - prison life consists of routine, and then more routine. Every so often, Andy would show up with fresh bruises. The Sisters kept at him - sometimes he was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. And that's how it went for Andy - that was his routine. I do believe those first two years were the worst for him, and I also believe that if things had gone on that way, this place would have got the best of him

@Mokvon there are two parts of that movie that really upset me. The rape scene and the scene when the young man that knows the truth is killed.
