This question was asked to Stephen Fry and I love his answer. So I ask you what would you say?
To answer my own question I suppose I would be more logical and tell God it was his fault I did not believe in him because if he created me then he knows I would not blindly follow anything that reads like a fairytale or where there was no proof of existence.
Well I'll be damned.
This one made me laugh.
I don't understand the question. I'll be dead.
This is pretend, Gareth. Pretend you meet this god person when you die. Now pretend you say something to this god person. What do you say?
@BlueWave I suppose I also have to pretend that I recognise this as 'God' and that he/she/it speaks English. I might say "how come I can talk without a mouth, face you without a face, and think without a brain?", but like being present at a mass shooting, I don't really think you can guess how you would behave until it happens. I might be relieved that I'm still 'alive' in some sense, or I might be worried that I hadn't kissed this guy's ass enough in the past.
What if when you die, you meet all the versions of yourself that could have existed had you lived up to your highest potential of discernmental Interests. You are 'God'. You create your reality.
I say poppycock to "meeting" other selves and "you are god." But that's just me.
@BlueWave I know the hot button words that get everyone here twisted up in semantic pretzel. But aren't you a 'higher self' from who you were as child? And when you see children of a developing age, aren't you talking to a congruent version of your self aka a homosapien? Sharing knowledge is just that. But thanks for the option. That's why I'm hear. It helps to bring clarity to my point by seeing the intent versus interpretation.
Gang rape? Why'd ya think that was a good idea? The bystander effect? Children with cancer? Anybody with cancer for that matter? The elections of 2000 and 2016. Dead 6 million Jews. Why? People spending their entire lives in prison for crimes they did not do. Shame on you.
How could you make something so beautiful and mix in so much ugliness on purpose! Free will doesnβt mean you couldnβt at least give us all the information available (youβre existence) instead of playing a game of vanity.
Which god? If there's only one, as the question implies, why would "he" be male? With no female gods to mate with that makes no sense.
In any case, in the unlikely event something like the proposed happens, I suppose my greeting would be "go fuck yourself."
why did he left everything left to run in course, leting peopme die, letting them to kill, rape, and why in the fuck he would ever make rules on the things he does not want humans to do, would he left us because he made us in his image therefore we are Gods as well. Is this some kind of game to be able to play in heaven, everything seemed to be desing on math why wouldnt he let people know that they must find their own path and see that there is no difference.
Depends which god I suppose.
i don't think it depends in which god, just think of it all of them promise a paradise the wonder place, is this a game?
Pick one and give it a shot. Let's say, for shits and giggles, you meet the late J.C. -- or his dad. What do you say?
