Intimacy is a form of relaxing and opening with/to another. A palpable form of trust. There's nothing else like it in terms of feeling whole and connected. For me, sex builds on that and is the creative flowering of the plant full of passion and intention to please. It's kind of a yin/yang kind of thing. Intimacy and sex, can exist one without the other, but the combination of the two is sweet oblivion.

@Desertcactus Sexual urges don't require intimacy. We're one of the few animals that seem to even have any awareness that "intimacy" is even a thing.
I don't care to get too lofty in my explanations when simple answers will suffice. And you're just making stuff up.

I wonder how much this is a factor in the search for simple intimacy. Is it possible that women resist intimacy because they're afraid they will be expected to pay off later?

@BitFlipper I see. I think women resist intimacy because most men don't understand what it is or aren't interested. When women start to become intimate, men back off because it includes emotions. Most men think intimacy is sex.
@Wildflower that's a different way of stating what I said. Well, I guess there is no solution. As usual, it's all men's fault.

All of the flaws described here are attributed to men alone. I'm looking for opportunities for those flaws to be corrected, and I see nothing that can be corrected by any individual man. That's why I say there is no solution.
That's very true especially for women but the sex is nice too
