yep, that's why I'm here -- I sometimes feel that I've found my soulmates -- even if they are a continent apart. Others out there think like I do, act like I do - struggle w/ relationships etc. -- yeah. WE ARE NOT ALONE. This was the promise of the internet -- glad to see it working.

Part of it may be that most people who can be skeptical about religion are more likely to be willing to believe they themselves can be wrong about many things - that there may be better information out there on any given subject. We're okay with not knowing all of the answers, and we're always looking to improve our knowledge. That's a generalization, I know, but I have seen plenty of evidence to suggest it's accurate enough to at least partly explain why discussions work so well here.
