I get it, a lot of people hated him 4 years ago and still hate him now. Hell, I can’t even stand the guy (deep down, this is not true). I've seen a lot of hate thrown his way, but this guy is a consistent winner and an overachiever. Call it jealously, call it envy, some people just can't handle how successful he is and how much he has, could even be jealous that he's got a hot foreign model as his wife. That's what the people who support him love about him. Yes there have been some scandals, yes there have been some lies, and maybe a few times he's twisted the truth to make himself look better. He's out there every day proving those haters wrong time after time. You may not have wanted him in this role, but he's there now and there is nothing you or I can do about it. I know it's possibly going to get worse over the next several days, but like him or not, Tom Brady is turning things around in Tampa Bay. 🐐

This is a sport reference, is it?

It's a double entendre!

@LovinLarge I inferred as much. Brady is either a coach or quarterback, right? I've heard the name before. But I know very little about sport these days; the truth is, working weekends for so long, I haven't been able to follow football in years and really lost interest, except for a technical appreciation when I see a good tackle. I'm an old inside lineman myself.

I just pretend the Lions win every year, I don't really care to know.

By the way, did you see the great Super Bowl victory the Lions pulled off? 10th consecutive. That's gotta be some kind of record. πŸ˜‰

@Paul4747 Sorry no, I think sports are stupid, especially professional sports where people ruin their bodies so that wealthy team owners can become weathier.

I do support sports for children and youth to teach cooperation, discipline and fitness and I have no quibble with amateur sports although I can't think of anything I'm less interested in. I knew Tom Brady was an professional athlete and that's all I need to know about him.

About 10 years ago, I was out and about on what was apparently Superbowl day and someone asked me if I was going to watch the game. When I said "no", they said that was "unamerican". I can't remember how I responded but it probably wasn't very nice. My time is far too valuable to waste on sports. Let's face it, at the end of the game, nothing has actually been accomplished. Chomsky is good on sports.

@LovinLarge You might have missed:

I just pretend the Lions win every year

@Paul4747 Sorry, I get it now. I am on post-election fatigue now that I am all but certain that soon I will never have to lay eyes on that orange imbecile again.

Are his balls deflated ?

Probably 🀣

Both of them can fuck all the way off.

Love that meme 🀣

I felt the blood rising in my face, then.... thanks for the pressure relief! I knew I liked you too much for you to be a Trumplican. Brady can go wherever he wants, I don’t follow sports.πŸ₯°πŸ˜

I feel the same about Brady but laughed my ass off when I read it (stolen from a friend who feels the same as I do about tRump)

He is neither consistent or a winner. His business record is abysmal. He got over $100,000,000 from his dad, and still had to be bailed out in his business deals. He leveraged smaller investors, then bailed on them by taking out bankruptcy multiple times leaving his small investors to pick up the tab.

He not lived up to a majority of his promises. Mexico did not pay the "wall". We paid the proce for the tariffs, not China. Got rid of the regulations, a reality we will run for generations, as we destroy the legacy that we were trying to say for our grandchildren and their grandchildren. He was not a President for all people, only his friends, white supremicists, and Libertarian militias. He did not protect us from the pandemic. He did not middle class economic situation better (we got a one time tax break, then it went away). He made the swamp swamping, with unqualified appointments and nepotistic favoritism. He made us less safe in the world by thumbing his nose at our allies and snuggling up to our enemies.

This is the short list of things he promised and did not follow through on. He has been impulsive, not consistent his entire term in office. He lead as a petulant child and a bully. There is nothing good about trump. May the family land in jail.

Why are you bringing up Trump? The OP said nothing about him.

@palex Yes she did, she just didn't mention him by name. It's an honest mistake, I did the same thing.

No I did not!! Did you read it all the way to the end?

@Heidi68 In the interest of full disclosure, I read it all the way to the end the first time but I was so mad about the rest of the post when I thought it was about Trump that the Tom Brady part didn't register.The brain does funny things sometimes.

She's talking about Tom Brady

@LovinLarge

I had the same reaction. I missed Brady's name the first time through. Given what is happening in the country presently, it was an honest mistake and an honest oversight. It came so typical of a trump supporters rationalization that I was sure that was what I reading. By the time I got to the end I was already reacting in my mind the perceived falsehoods related to trump that I reacted incorrectly. Was that intended by the way you wrote it, or just an unintentional occurrence.

@t1nick The OP said she got it off a friend's FB page. It's a double entendre to make you think it's talkjng about Trump with the twist at the end. Totally intentional and clever.

@t1nick Full disclosure - I despise tRump. Everything you stated in your first response are things I have said a million times to the cult.

Thanks for the laugh.

Shew I am glad some figured out it is a joke. 😁

yes. this had me going as if it were Trump, but I spend no time thinking about Tom Brady. Who cares. So his wife is thought of as hot. Hot women are a dime a dozen. I have a good friend who has been an emergency room cardiothoracic surgeon for 15 years and who puts herself in harms way daily with the Covid 19 virus lurking every where. Who is deserving of more respect? Tom Brady and his hot wife or someone like my friend?

Your friend. I think the OP was trying to lighten the mood, the end was just the twist! This post is exceptionally clever.

@LovinLarge yes, someone needs to learn to recognize a joke..... jeez

@Heidi68 under the circumstances, my sense of humor is greatly impaired, but the so called joke only works for those with a certain bias I don't share.

@Healthydoc70 it seems you have something for your friend of whom no one on this thread knows. No one, is saying nor has said anything disparaging about medical workers (or medical staff). This is simply a joke about the arrogance (similarities) of tRump and Brady if you refuse to acknowledge that after it has been painstakingly explained maybe you need to get some rest to recover from...... the circumstances.

That’s a good one πŸ˜‚

Glad you liked it

always cracks me up, how people get so bent over athletes and other entertainers... πŸ˜€

I can only say that my team beat Brady in the Super Bowl with a back up quarterback. πŸ˜‰

I was never a big football fan but back in 2000 when my neighbor played match maker my now ex lover was both a baseball fan and a football fan. I got sort of got interested in football ( I enjoy baseball). Not just pro but college also. The 2005 season was notable for horrible calls by officials in pro and college ball. The Seattle Seahawks went to the super bowl that season and lost to Rothlesberger and the Steelers. I saw the non-touchdown that was called a touchdown and all the missed calls. The coach was fined $25,000 for saying at the end of the game, "we came prepared to play football we were not prepared to play the officials." College ball had some similar issues. I actually wrote to the NFL about how bad I thought their officiating was. Yeah, they did write back saying they stand by their officials.
I stopped watching football. I only watched again when the Seahawks went into the playoffs in the 2012/2013 season and won the super bowl.

A couple of the Patriot Super Bowl victories seemed sketchy as hell to me, and turned me off professional football. It was pretty suspicious when Pete Carroll threw the game away, but when I watched their comeback win against the Falcons, I was shocked. There is no way I can imagine an NFL team that's good enough to get to the Super Bowl playing the way that team did.

The most obvious thing being that when you have a big lead against a team with an offense as good as New England's was; you would burn every second you can off the clock when you have the ball. You don't have to be an NFL coach to figure that out.

@JimG I was vindicated when 6 or 7 years later the official who called the non-touchdown a touchdown admitted it was a bad call and basically apologized. Same thing happens in baseball. Is it really all about the money? I find I do not like watching brain damage happen in real time even if they have those padded helmets the grey matter gets bounced around pretty hard.
How can a team be so good and blow the play offs or be so bad and squeak into the playoffs.

@silverotter11 Bad teams rarely squeak into the playoffs in any sport other than football. I think the main reasons are: the season is so short that a team with a weak schedule that gets a couple of lucky breaks or benefits from a bad call can end up with a good enough record to get in, the playoff field is pretty large, and a team can start out good and with a couple of key injuries be terrible when the playoffs start.

Hockey and basketball also have a large number of teams in the playoffs, but the length of their seasons makes it hard for bad teams to get enough fluke wins to help.

In my opinion the helmets are the problem in football. They give players a false sense of security to run full speed directly into each other. In rugby, there are far fewer concussions because players keep their heads up and try to hit each other at angles than reduce the force of impact. The football helmets protect your skull, but they don't keep your brain from bouncing around inside your skull like a pinball.

@JimG It's that false sense of security for sure.

Girl!!! You had me going, mid way I knew I was being punked but i had to read it all the way thru and not jump to the end - where I knew there would be not who I was thinking of. LOL Good one!
Speaking of Tom Brady did you ever see this spoof?

🀣🀣🀣🀣 oh damn I am over here laughing my ass off!

2

I despise Tom Brady. I knew exactly who you were talking about. I'm hoping Antonio Brown gets targeted. The Saints are just the team to to it. Go Sean Payton, get him on the bounty list. Take him out on a stretcher. AB wife beater, thief, criminal assaulter and rapist. Brady played with Aaron Hernandez so he's quite used to criminal element.

2

Awesome. Had me through the end.
Life long Steelers fan living here in Tampa.
Some how his being here is wrong. Tired of that guy.
Awesome post, got me good in the end.πŸ™‚

Shew glad you got it - so many haven't 😁

2

I am clear in my mind about what β€˜evil’ is...and trump is an evil man! Even Science will back me on this one!

Please go back & read it all the way to the end

@Heidi68 not being a sports fan, I had no other reference...I couldn’t get it! Lol

@Freedompath sports to me are enigmatic. Give me lacrosse every time. It's the only one I have ever understood.

@Freedompath Tom Brady was a quarterback for the Patriots and now plays in Tampa Bay. He has had some 'questionable' things happen while with the Patriots and he now has a super model. Similarities were perfect

2

Nice,I bought into it

2

You had me all the way to the end. Brilliant, simply brilliant πŸ˜‚πŸ’™πŸ€ͺπŸ˜…

So glad you got it 😁🀣

@Heidi68 I’m a NY Giants fan. I got it πŸ˜…. I re-read it after I got to the punchline and appreciated it even the second time around, but without the β€œwtf is Heidi a Trumpster?” lurking in my head πŸ˜‚

@Bobbyzen glad we got that 'lurking' out of your head 🀣🀣

2

I wish the rest of you guys could post things this clever! ROTFL

LOL

2

Us long-time Patriots mourn him As If dead.....

Nooooo! You are a Patriots fan - that makes me sad πŸ˜₯🀣🀣

@Heidi68 since the early 80's, when they really, truly, sucked! I feel i deserved the last couple decades!

@Heidi68 She didn't say she was a Patriots fan, but rather one of the Patriots... 😝

@JeffMurray no, no, a true Patriots Lover...been to Foxboro for Fan Day, and the like!

@AnneWimsey I wish I knew what it was like to have a home town football team to be proud of...

@JeffMurray my poor brother in Norfolk VA has always been a huge Redskins fan.....I think they won a Superbowl in the late 70's(?) were the first to have HUGE linemen....stadium seats were a fought-over thing to will to your heirs. Now they have been in "building mode" (his words) for what, 4 decades? On the other hand, they're not the Lions........

@AnneWimsey my first ever NFL game (watching) experience was The Bears/Patriots - my brother was heading out to meet some friends to watch the game. I asked who he was pulling for - Patriots - I bet him The Bears would win. You know the out come. Bears fan since & hated the Patriots..... oh & 1/2 my family is from the Boston, Salem area.

2

Well done! And his wife is hot!

I honestly have no idea who his wife is (I thought she was that prude who use to be on The Talk)..... I am glad you enjoyed the rest of it, I sure got a good giggle from it

@Heidi68 Gisele Bundchen Brazilian supermodel...

Yeah, bet he caught everyone

@Canndue Not super. Just a model.

@Mooolah to each there own

2

You really had me going there! Kudos!

It had me going - was confused at first because of who I 'stole' it from 😁

@Heidi68 Who did you steal it from?

@LovinLarge a friend posted it on FB

1

This just goes to show how we can so easily jump to conclusions & make assumptions. How tired did you get of saying "did you read it to the end"?

Certainly makes you realize how easily people assume, how easily they shut down when things are not part of their narrative and how poor reading comprehension is. I was (am) a bit frustrated that so many did not read all the way to the end and that question was even typed once.

@Heidi68
People often don't have patience and often don't listen; they're too busy thinking of their response. They don't take time to smell the roses(or the coffee). They live lives fast and furious.
We can get so used to short 'answers' or whatever, and lack patience. Tey want everything immediately. Sigh...

@HumanistJohn so true

1

51 likes and well deserved...had me going there.

Many did not read the whole thing..... 😁

1

This is a joke ... right ?

Did you read it all the way to the end?

@Heidi68 yup - but ya never know ...

@evergreen actually I can't stand either of them but I thought this was funny as hell 🀣🀣🀣

1

bread and circuses.....keep the masses happy

1

So interesting to hear you saying people throw hate at him. I guess you have not noticed that he is the one who is the greatest hate creator there is. And when you mention that he is so successful than you need to be aware of him going bankrupt four times. And don't you find it strange that this man who has gone bankrupt four times still has money?

It's just meant to be a joke, and it is definitely misdirection, especially the four year time frame. Brady has been hated much longer than that, but other than that it is rather amusing.

Did you read it to the end?

@Heidi68 Yes

@Jolanta it is about a football player named Tom Brady not tRump

@Heidi68 Yes, I know, now. Don't like him either, he is a great friend of Donald.

@Jolanta I dislike him also but the whole thing is a joke, or was suppose to be
