Sometimes I feel so alone in my grief. But I want it that way, too. I don't want to post on Facebook but I feel like I am supposed to. He would have been 40 today. I have been avoiding thinking about it but his neice posted that on Facebook and it surprised me. 40. We would have had so much fun joking about him being old. But now it's just me by myself crying.

A very wise friend of mine, who had already lost two wives to cancer, explained it to me. It never goes away. But, it does get better. Please continue to look here for help. Later you will be able to provide comfort as only a survivor can. I cannot know how you feel but I know how I felt. I wish we had a hug emoji. I’d put in at least a dozen.

We do grieve alone. It is so easy to forget that there are others grieving for him as well. Maybe not as acutely or passionately as you are but grieving non the less. George was very much loved by so many family & friends. He died on my birthday. My FB on that day was a thing of nightmares! It seems to be getting easier to get through. Even that is painful, though.

I had a similar situation. I didn't post my husband's death on FB cuz I figured those closest to him and me already knew his status. Then I read my SIL's post and was a little pissed. She later asked me if she shouldn't have done it. By that time, I just bit my lip.

My husband past away 6 months ago. The holidays were hard as hell to get through, next will be Richards birthday on February 27, then our anniversary on April 22nd. My heart goes out to you. I know how hard it is. I'm told the lst year is the hardest. Please continue reaching out here, as there are so many who truly understand your pain., and will offer support.
