Things are certainly different now.

Only no parent would drag a kid outside these days, they're too petrified of every other person in the world zeroing in on their kids to snatch them the moment they step outside or other parents calling the cops on them.
How does Religion affect Views of Palestine/Israel?
memorylikeasieve comments on May 17, 2018:
The whole affair has become so hopelessly convoluted that I think everyone should just be moved out and then, when the area is completely devoid of humans it should be razed to the ground and given back to nature. Enough is enough.
Do you expect an award when you’ve done a good deed?
memorylikeasieve comments on May 17, 2018:
Other than from my own brain? Nope.
Why are people so desperate to be diagnosed with a mental health issue ?
memorylikeasieve comments on May 17, 2018:
Because they don't want to be held responsible for their assholery. They see how folks with actual mental illnesses are being given proper consideration and mistake it for a 'get out of consequences free' card. But the thing is, folks with real mental illnesses know there's no such animal.

What is your opinion on GMO foods and Monsanto?
memorylikeasieve comments on May 16, 2018:
GMOs are perfectly fine. There is no difference between regular food and organic but the price. As to Monsanto? I grew up in a farming community. They were doing the same thing for ages before Monsanto bought a bunch of smaller seed companies. It's just the same practices with a different name.
How off putting is it to learn someone has kids?
memorylikeasieve comments on May 16, 2018:
'Unless they haven't lived?'. I've had a pretty good life being child-free, and I aim to find someone with a similar life. I am not the sort of person who does well around children for any length of time. I'm the stiff, awkward, avoidant type who can't speak their language.

A broken idea of sex is flourishing. Blame capitalism. | Rebecca Solnit | Opinion | The Guardian
memorylikeasieve comments on May 13, 2018:
I saw a post once by one of these incel creatures that proposed a forced distribution of women to himself and his ilk, all sorted by 'number,' of course, like some kind of Stalin-era bread line, with added rules regarding what 'number' class of woman could have sex with what 'number' class of man. Completely ignoring the existence of the LGBT, predictably. Seemed less capitalist than communist to me. 'And here is your government-issued Woman Above Level Seven.' Makes me really glad I'd be considered unattractive by these creatures.
Where’s your monsters?
memorylikeasieve comments on May 13, 2018:
Conservative Congressbeings are the scariest human monsters for me. The scariest fictional monsters for me would have to be anything that can take over your mind. Daemons and such. You can't run from them or fight them.
Anyone else get brain fog?

memorylikeasieve comments on May 11, 2018:
I'll have ink done just about anywhere other than face or neck. Those spots are too sensitive on me, so it'd be way too painful. Also I like to decorate those areas with makeup and jewellery, instead. Personally, I see the body as a beautiful canvas and if one wants to decorate it with tattoos or piercings or whatever, more power to 'em. I've got two so far and am planning more.

How do you feel about hunting for sport?
memorylikeasieve comments on May 10, 2018:
The more dead cervids, the better. They starve out other wildlife, they eat crops, and they jump out in front of vehicles on the road. Hunting them is really just pest control.
Chronic pain
memorylikeasieve comments on May 10, 2018:
I find it depends on the pain for me. My headaches respond well to ice packs and Excedrin. This lower back pain I've been having for over a month now responds decently enough to CBD and a TENS unit, and cyclobenzaprine at night, but only temporarily. Distraction doesn't really work for me, I have to throw /some/ kind of treatment at it.

Was anyone else required to kneel and say a prayer before bedtime?
memorylikeasieve comments on May 9, 2018:

Young People Are Lonelier Than Their Elders : NPR
memorylikeasieve comments on May 6, 2018:
It's because people seem to glorify introversion these days. I see so many posts and memes and comics about wanting to stay at home because *shock! horror!*. there are people out there! 'Yay, so-and-so cancelled so I can stay in and not wear pants and stare at Netflix all night!' 'Stupid extoverts can party all night, I'll stay at home with my cats because /I'm/ better than that.' If they want to not be lonely, they have to, yanno, put on real clothing and step outside.

memorylikeasieve comments on May 6, 2018:
I don't even try. You can't cure stupidity.
I like to believe in civility even in the face of talking heads.
memorylikeasieve comments on May 6, 2018:
Dunno. I'm willing to debate with most folks, but I draw the line at those who want me dead. It wasn't very long ago that this country started seeing the LGBT community as human beings, and there are far too many who want to reverse that. So, sorry, not going to try any 'civil discourse' with Nazis, alt-right, etc. They don't deserve it. They made entirely the wrong choices.

This is going to be a odd question/ How does every one feel about the Boy Scouts changing the name ...
memorylikeasieve comments on May 6, 2018:
I say it's about time. I never joined Girl Scouts/Guides/whatever because it seemed pointless. Why did the boys get to learn survival skills and such and the girls didn't? Now girls can learn useful things, too.
These dismissive and repetitive quotes often used by the religious annoy me for several reasons.
memorylikeasieve comments on May 5, 2018:
Urgh, they annoy me, too, and people automatically lose credibility in my eyes if they use them non-ironically.
Who else out thar, is so tired of all the Trump Bashing ?

Sorry, I can't honestly say I'm with you on this. If we stop objecting and criticising, this shit will become normalised.
