Yes, I talk about the fucking douche when I get upset otherwise it is just a waste!!!

I don’t talk about god. I don’t waste time with moral arguments. I talk about how people make things up and convince others they are true.

Why do "christians" talk about atheists so much ? The only time I notice it being done is in response to the attacks from self proclaimed "Christains" . Why do Lord of the Rings fans talk about Tolkein or Dune reader talk about Frank Herbert ? All humans tend to talk about things that amaze them. Like how others can claim to be intelligent rational beings yet steadfastly believe that their lives are ruled by a being that has no form, who's presence they have never experienced, and was created by bronze age peoples who had no idea how the universe worked yet were satisfied accepting that being their elders taught them about would take care of everything.

I don't talk about God at all unless a believer starts questioning me on my beliefs. And I try to keep it short and sweet. I have no intention of taking up time in my life talking about something that is utter bullshit.

Many of us feel an obligation to truth which, in turn, we feel a necessity to call out bullshit.

It's cathartic. In a world with so many superstitious folks, you can't really talk about it; after all, those believers are sometimes very nice people, and confronting them serves no purpose. So it's a relief to talk to other nonbelievers; besides, many of us were programmed with this stuff from birth, and it just feels clean to keep shedding those years of indoctrination.

Well, imo religions are like a cancer and as with any disease or cancer IF you ignore it it only gets worse and worse so it IS far better to bring out into the open, cut from the body of society thus removing it completely.

If you don't bring it up neither will I.✌

I mean, apart from the fact that the very concept of a god and the biology behind religious faith is fascinating, we mostly talk about it because it's everywhere, so we have to talk about it. Plus, like, the religion itself is actively hindering the overall progress of humanity, so really anything we can do to help the potential victims of religious indoctrination and things like anti-science propaganda is warranted and hopefully encouraged.

Maybe not god, but his (or her) fan base.

Speaking for myself I rarely do to family or the general public but I will speak freely about it on an atheist group. However most of the posts I see on them are anti religion instead of pro secularism and humanism. Frankly I'd prefer more positive and uplifting discussions about atheism.

I mean....in a pandemic you talk about corona. Doesnt mean we like to talk about it. We'd rather not talk about, but we have to because lives can be saved, including our own.

Atheists talk about god for the same reason that firefighters talk about blazing fires.

If you see the damage that is being done, you feel compelled to discuss the problem.

I don't bring up the topic, but when someone else does I'm prepared.

There are many reasons:

• Belief in god(s) is delusional
• Belief in their little holy book(s) robs them of critical thinking
• Belief in god(s) robs people of the joy of discovery of the world and the universe
• Belief in their little holy book(s) stops human progress

How can one talk about something that does not exist.

Because we spent many years exploring it. When I first doubted god I wondered why I was in such a seemingly small minority, so I wasn't confident I was right until I actually learned about it.

Which god are you talking about? Give it's name.

I, as an atheist in a religious world, almost have no choice. Whether it's because I'm approached by a believer or I find some duty or catharsis in trying to dismantle such a concept as gods. Never capitalized. Never singular. It is a concept I try to make people see the fallacy of, nothing more.

I would be happy if I never had to talk about a god again in my lifetime. I rarely talk about 'God'. What I do talk about is the evil that belief in gods permits, about hypocrisy and exploitation.

This is one of the few places that I bring it up because I know that at least a few others understand but oddly Christians bring up god/Jesus/bible constantly. Sometimes that leads to me saying something about it.
