I plan to grab this photo and share it in my mental health professionals group. Thanks for sharing!

On a related note: I want to put in a bid for taking responsibility for those patterns and traits, without shame. For instance, if you have a tendency to lash out at others because you were abused, it is forgivable and understandable, but you are still responsible to manage and heal those responses (therapy, hint hint) so as not to abuse others around you - especially in intimate relationships, and with children. Don't you all agree?

What? - the message contradicts her style of dress....at least a more modest top....why would you wear provocative clothing while posting such a comment?

Robecology Level 9 Mar 28, 2019

Wow you are sexist

@Corvislover how is it sexist? She's almost falling out of her top...for obvious reasons. Would you post that sign and wear such a top? I think not. It would have conveyed a smarter message if she was not so "exposed" don't you think?
Here's a woman who knows how to dress to match the message...

Take a hint...

@Robecology your sexist. Saying anything about how she is dressed is SEXIST.
Look it up

Yes, I'm also confused as to why anyone would care what the hell she is wearing. Even if she were completely naked it wouldn't reflect on the message. Women should not be judged on what they are wearing. That's a not-so-subtle kind of slut-shaming, and it's not acceptable.

They are simply mammary glands that all mammals have to feed their young.

Very good advice.

Ugh...so true. So hard to break out of.

I recently learned from research that over 60% of American women manifest 6 or 7 of the symptoms of PTSD. This is more than men, including veterans of wars.

mischl Level 8 Mar 27, 2019

As a domestic abuse survivor, and a retired 911 dispatcher, I was diagnosed with PTSD. It's rough, man. I deal with it every day...

I totally believe that number....the sad part is that women are told to pull up their big girl panties and just "deal with it" because their kids/husbands/employers etc are depending on them to hold it all together.

@Lavergne exactly

@Lavergne Deal with it?? Hell NO. Instead work through it and get it fixed. PTS and PTSD actually hijack your mind and your nervous system. It's involuntary. Pills can't fix it. The most successful treatment regimes include medicine, talk therapy, and body work, all three together.

@mischl Oh yeah - you're dead right about what it is and how its best treated. Unfortunately - and what I apparently didn't articulate very clearly - is that society at large says "deal with it" rather than - how can we help you work thru it and get better.

@Lavergne Society in general is uninformed and uncaring. Not so with us here.
