Whats your best garage sale find?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 14, 2018:
Quite a few things over the years but the one that sprang to mind first was a poster sized charcoal drawing of a native american woman. She is off center and vaguely looked like me. People assumed it was me when I was younger LOL No matter how much downsizing I had to do, that damn thing has moved with me. When we have hurricane scares, it is wrapped in plastic and put between the mattress and box spring. Ive had it for at least 35 years and paid 5 bucks for it

Anyone else in my age bracket having this issue?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 13, 2018:
I get what you are saying. A number of years ago I started seeing this guy and he was awkward. Both physically and socially yet the sex was surprisingly mind blowing. I will say that he did not speak of sex when we first started hanging out together. I have never had a strong sex drive so I was surprised at how much of it we had but outside of sex there was nothing there. I think we lasted 3 months before his non sexual behavior overcame the sexual gratification So yeah, sex is icing.
Is an affair always wrong????
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 13, 2018:
Yup. If the spouse is ok with a side piece then it is not an affair.
Does anybody else here think that your atheism/agnosticism is actually a pretty uninteresting part ...
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 13, 2018:
Yup. But. When my kids were young, I didnt actually pretend to be a believer but made a big deal about how the bible was bunk and disliked organized religion which made people think that I was a believer but just disliked church. When I was finally able to be open about it, I was a bit of an asshole about it and felt compelled to be in your face about it. Which made it a big part of my identity for a while. Now it rarely comes up in most interactions with people and only becomes known after someone has known me for a while and is part of some other subject being discussed

What’s your experience with family after rejecting the religion that was forced on you as a child?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 13, 2018:
Except for a 7 year period when my mother was married to an abusive cult leader wannabe, I rarely went to a church and even then it was when sleeping over at a friends houses. They all believe/d but didnt/dont attend church. I come from a family that had the "as long as you don't screw up my life, I don't care what you do or are." The down side to this is that they also wanted to turn a blind eye to abuse because "none of my business" I adore my moms third husband which she married nearly 40 years ago but even he and my mom are always on me for giving a shit about others misfortunes. They think I need to mind my own business or tend to my own problems

Anyone ever had anything bad happen on Friday the 13th?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 12, 2018:
I had my daughter barely at 17 and was almost immediately pregnant again. I miscarried unknowingly because I was still quite ignorate about life and damage was done. When I was older, I tried for years to carry a child but couldn't stay pregnant beyond the 5th month. So I gave up and bought a mustang. A year later I am pregnant, carry to nearly 7 months and he was born on Friday the 13th I also bought a house with a credit score of 666. I actually have that letter somewhere

Anyone listen to Zuckerberg today?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 11, 2018:
I did not listen but I am of the opinion that people should be aware that nothing is truly free. I knew when I joined it that anything they found out about me would be used for their benefit. People want free shit but are too lazy or greedy to take the necessary steps to protect themselves and now want the government to punish Zuckerberg for their own failures. Sure it was worse than most people thought but there were people out there that knew and told others. Hell, I downloaded TOR because of that but never took the time to install it and learn how to use it. That's on me

Sure my property is worth less than theirs but my taxes are lower, I don't have code enforcement up my ass and i have spending money. I didn't buy it as an investment, I bought it to live in. Dating: what's your ideal age range? How important is age?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 10, 2018:
I was young when I had my daughter and although I have dated both older and younger, I have felt that a few years plus or minus would be best for me. But I appear at least 10 years younger and when coupled with my daughter's propensity for dating a bit older, I find myself in an uncomfortable position.

How do Believers become Non-Believers
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 3, 2018:
I was raised by people who believed in a higher power but did not actually attend services when I was really young. By the time I was exposed to church, I was at a questioning age. My questions were met with anger and punishment and instead of putting the fear of god in me, I felt resentment and had more questions. Then I was forced to read the bible by people who had never read it themselves LOL

Anyone else have a chronic illness that changed your perspective on life?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 1, 2018:
I used to be a miserable unhappy person. Also extremely conservative. Held a grudge like a champ. My brother was murdered and I wasn't speaking to him at the time. My father and I had never really known each other but spent some time talking after my brother died which was good since he was dead a year later. Then my daughter took an interest in dating black boys. I became woke as they say. Didnt take long for me to see the error of my ways. Then 12 years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I was initially told I was end stage but that was a mistake and I didnt even have to have chemo. During that first two weeks that I thought I was going to die before my youngest child reached adulthood, I did a lot of changing. I ended up losing everything I owned excepting my truck and dog and even had to be a roommate for years but the changes stuck. Most of the changes stuck
What does compatible mean to you?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 1, 2018:
I think at this point in my life that we need to be politically similar.. Athough not necessarily a dealbreaker, I think that people that come from vastly different backgrounds will struggle more. It has been my experience that the one with the most money will try to exert more power even if unknowingly. Same with people who have a superior education. I have been on both sides economically and usully the better educated. Looking back, I think I was guilty of that a bit.
How do you feel about the person you're dating talking about their ex?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 1, 2018:
Depends largely on the type of talking. If he has nothing nice to say about her, I figure that someday it will be me he is trashing. Conversely if he can't stop talking about great she was, I figure he is going to be going back to her someday

Lucy_Fehr comments on Mar 31, 2018:

Lucy_Fehr comments on Mar 28, 2018:

Gratitude?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Mar 28, 2018:
In 1978 when I was 16, I had to leave home for self preservation and ended up in West Virginia. I was sleeping in a hospital when a nurse took me home with her. She had a newborn and even though I was grateful, it was years before I fully understood the risk she took. I wish I could find her but I do not even remember the name of the town; just that the name snake river had something to do with the location.

Lucy_Fehr comments on Mar 27, 2018:

I waited til she was next to my bed and screamed at her, she screamed and farted. Thought I would die laughing I posted on another thread about the two pranks I pulled that backfired.

Most of the people I know with an employer provided phone also has a personal one with the exception of one person who does not have any social media accounts or even a computer. The others that do not carry a personal cell have no problem giving the number to non business related people so he does not need to hide you from his employer.

How do you deal with Backstabbers in the workplace?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Mar 25, 2018:
Depends on the situation. Can they do me any harm? If not, I tend to ignore it since I rarely care about any of them on a personal level. If they are in a position to cause me harm or annoy me significantly then I pretend I didn't find out until I figure out the best way to neutralize the harm. It would make me sound really really bad if I explained any further ;}

Are you pulling any April Fool's Day pranks on Easter?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Mar 25, 2018:
My pranks backfire. Once I gave my son condoms as a gag gift; his excitement and declaration that he really needed them definately made the joke on me. My daughter at one time had my only grandkids so she enjoyed an elevated status. My son, daughter in law and myself cooked up a plan to convince my daughter they were having a baby. We all expected her to be unhappy about it. Nope she was so damn happy and excited that her baby brother was gonna have a baby that she cried. So we felt like assholes. The only "prank" that ever succeeded was when I heard someone was gonna egg me from their car so I hid in my boat and threw spoiled eggs in their car when they pulled up
Good morning everyone.

Telling someone that their grandparent is gonna pass soon is not a psychic ability. It's a fact of life that old people die. I went to cassadaga once for shits and giggles and was told that something was going on in my stomach area. I was of menopausal age so yeah, no shit. But that is such a vague comment that could be about anything from constipation to cancer. There is a reason that they must take your hand; many health or behavioural clues can be gleaned from your nails and skin but the main reason is be able to tell when their vague comments strike a nerve.

Have you dated someone YEARS younger or older?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Mar 25, 2018:
Many many years ago I dated someone 19 years older. My family pressured me to end it but I wouldn't for quite a while. I think the differences in our socio-economic backgrounds were the biggest problem. In my early 30s I dated someone 15 years younger. Much bigger mistake and had nothing to do with socio-economic status; he was simply too young for me. Being a few years older than my child was too messy.

But I love history and see ruins in every port I visit

What are your pet peeves about photos on dating sites?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Mar 21, 2018:
Maybe I'm a jerk but if their primary pic is them shirtless then I pass. If all their pics contain them holding booze/in a bar, I pass. And the gym pics with the flexed muscles. I like knowing they have pets and children/grandchildren in their lives because it means they have roots or responsibilities. I don't even consider it a deal breaker if they aid or live with thier aging parents either.
