I'm on here a lot, and yes, it's for connection. I do get satisfaction from input or likes, but no, it doesn't take the place of face-to-face connection with friends and family, and I'm glad I have them. This site is a way, along with reading, of keeping my mind occupied. I also have down time and meditation time, because when I was younger I found it easy to get obsessively into things like video games, and now I purposely don't let myself do it.
