Tomfoolery33 comments on Jul 29, 2018:
Interesting, and very good. I like the way you blend well-described reality with fantasy? Is that what I should call it? I'm not a very good prose critic, so I'm not sure exactly how to describe what it is you do in your stories, but I've not seen anything quite like it before. It's not exactly magical realism. Or is it? How would you describe it?
I'm a little worried that I may be type cast here.
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jul 29, 2018:
I like it! I only have one complaint, though it is a very small one. Early in the story someone says "I swannee." Having heard the expression a lot growing up, I believe it's "I swan." I never heard the other, except for "Way down upon the Swanee River."

I do not understand why this country thinks Socialism is so bad.
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jul 28, 2018:
The reason they think it's so awful is because of years of right-wing propaganda against it, and equating it with Communist Russia, and other totalitarian regimes. They ignore the social democracies which are doing so well, and act like that's just the first step to hell.

Is balance worthwhile?
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
Light only makes the darkness recede in the place where it shines. All darkness does not go away. If everything was light, it would be as blinding as if everything was dark. The balance is always there in anything that is definable by the human mind. If there is no up, there is no down, and on and on.
