Hi dear agnostic friends. My name is aisha. and Ex-muslim.
i joined agnostic group with the hope that I will make a good friends here.
and educate and enlight me about modern world...
Are you in a safe country to be an ex-muslim?
Many, if not most, of us came out of Christian traditions, and so it’s nice to have an apostate from Islam for a different perspective… welcome!
George Washington murdered hundreds of Mohawk women children and men who fought back against muskets with pointy stone knives arrows spears....your philosophers covered up hundreds of years worth of genocide ordered by the Vatican 1450 ....revolutionary Paine resisted greedy murderous British much like
Lenin resisted invading USA troops 1919 til the day Vladimir died ....dying slowly on plantations or being a raped serf in your philosopher lands is more painful than dying in white armies murdering red defenders of their homelands....Paine would be an Atheist 2day after reading Darwin ....trashing socialists here comrade sullies the good of small businesses like Henry Ford who raised union wages high so his workers could buy his cars that some converted to farm work....thus Ford corporation quickly grew a growing roadway economy never thought of by your bullshit philosophers on horseback & buggies
@GreenAtheist I have no idea where this came from when I was merely trying to be polite and welcome a new member.
@p-nullifidian obviously responded to the wrong post.
Welcome to the site Aisha, I hope you will connect with the many wonderful people here and learn about our views.
Welcome aisha1998 and good for you.
This site is an excellent place to connect with a global community (but primarily US-based) of people who have left religion(s) behind. However, like most things it is also only as good as what you want to make it.
My advice is to look around the site for groups and topics that interest you. Take some time and see what people post and share and once you get a feeling for it, post your own ideas, concerns and thoughts.
Good people here
any question just let me know OK?
Welcome, hope you will enjoy different groups and discussions here.
thank you
@aisha1998 Hello Aisha and welcome. Where do you live? I live in New Hampshire and it is really cold here right now. There are a lot of good people here (from all over the world) but there are also some crazy people and I think you might have already figured that out. I wish you all the best.
Hello…very nice to be able to say hi….and welcome to the site! Just dip into the posts and add to the comments of you feel like it. I hope you’ll soon find that we are friendly and welcoming.
Welcome. The we are a way for the universe to understand itself, and the laws of physics and quantum mechanics got us here. But it took so long and so many things had to happen that we and life itself are all bordeline miracles, and therefore all precious. Long live the human race. Peace.
Welcome Aisha. I think you will find all sorts of viewpoints here. A good start is to understand the origin of the word "agnostic" Gnos is a greek word meaning knowledge. When you place an a before the word it means without. So the word agnostic means a person is without knowledge. Here we, at least I mean I have no knowlege of the existence or non existence of a god or gods. Another term you will see is Atheist. It is another word with a greek root "theo" theo means god. So an a before theo means without god. Most atheists say there is no god or gods.We get into some pretty heated discussions over this. Atheists say there is no god, agnostics say there is no way to know if god/gods exist or not. That's a very simplified version. I usually catch a lot of grief from both sides , but the word origins are plain facts.
Try NOT to confuse Gnos with Gnosis, Gnostic and Agnostic please.
I am glad to see you here, post lots of stuff about your part of the world.
Welcome ! Have you any science training or experience that will help you? That makes things easier.
Welcome Aisha.
