Are you a "Season's Greetings" or "Happy Holidays" person? Either way, best wishes to you and thanks for participation this past year! And yes, it's a beautiful tree: [zmescience.com]
I'm good with what ever any one wants to call it. in the end they are wishing me well.
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet". kind of thing.
I'm not one for getting my panties in a bunch over a word.
I don't have only one greeting for all because a greeting is of someone. It is about that person, not about the greeter. So if i know what if any holiday someone celebrates, i wish that person joy of that holiday. If i don't know, they may get a "happy holidays" out of me, or i may say "if you celebrate something around now, i wish you joy of it." I have never said "season's greetings" because that sounds odd to me, like meeting a friend and saying "i am greeting you" instead of "hi."

Thank you! And don't forget the Reason for the Season: Food, Eggnog and presents!
I usually say, "Happy Holidays." In my community, here in the Bible Belt, it is surprisingly acceptable to say that. I have not received even a sneer from anyone.
I am a 'Winter Solstice' person! Now that it is the 25th, there is only a couple of more weeks of the uninterrupted, moronic howling; just because it is past Santa Clause's birthday (whatever) it doesn't stop until the second week in January.---- Have a Happy Happy.
Merry Gifmas!
Thank you big A, I'm a happy holidays person, inoffensive, but you never know these days!
Merry Christmas is my go to well wishing this time of the year. If that ruins someone’s day then I guess I’m sorry.
Hi Luis. We chatted a long time ago. how are you. Happy Holidays in answer to your question. Now happy 2020.
I live on the edge of a very big and very diverse city, and hear all sorts of holiday greetings, and often in several languages. “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Holidays” are the most common. I will respond to them all, however, unless they are delivered in an aggressively religious tone, but will usually lead with “Happy Holidays” because I don’t want to assume what people believe or celebrate, if anything. I enjoy the season, and have no problem with the “spirit” of Christmas in a Dickensian sense.
Merry whatever you celebrate. I'm the "Merry Christmas" type because who gives a flying fook, yanno? Even though it's all nonsense, I don't care enough about it to have a meaningful reservation over the exact words to be spoken. I treat it like I would treat the phrase "hello?" when I answer the phone...it's just a thing you say that most people understand to be customary.
Merry Christmas to all!
In my mind, there was no real Jesus, there's no god, so I don't feel like I'm violating some "atheist code" by endorsing what is essentially a pagan festival. Most Americans drink eggnog and attend parties that are totally nonreligious.
