I have kept a journal off and on for most of my 30s and beyond. I shredded a bunch of them at one time. I also used to do long Xmas letters. Reading some of the old letters was what prompted me to start the end of my marriage. I now have a journal app on my tablet that I started the day I lost my job at the hospital billing office at the start of the pandemic. Then I pulled out all the old journals I had and transcribed those into the journal app. I had one of Oprah's Journals of Daily Renewal which she was selling when she was on her fitness kick with that trainer dude. I have written in my journal nearly every day (I think I skipped two days) since June 10, 2020. That journal has 1262 entries as of last night.

I limited my kids TV time, they often say they grew up Amish. They were also good students. Igrew up watching TV, what helped me to break the habit was being in the military especially overseas where we didn't get regular programming, and I worked shiftwork. I currently don't have cable TV, I turned it off when I needed to tighten my spending, AND I saw Ted Cruz's face in my living room. That was during the presidential election that gave us Drumpf as a president. I might watch Netflix or Amazon Prime. Usually I will turn on something for the grands when they're here. I will watch TV when I'm working on a project like knitting or crochet, my hands are busy but I can follow the story line. I can't think of the last time I watched something on TV. I think it was when I was making a crocheted blanket for my grandson last fall/winter, I watched several old TV series that I borrowed the DVDs from the library. Like you I read, and cook from scratch. I also sew which takes me away from the TV. I don't miss TV at all.

He's 4, so still young and he's going to be facing some huge changes in his young life. His family is moving out of the US in just a few days. Yesterday I roasted tomatoes from my garden, green and red bell peppers, onions, and garlic, and pureed it all with some herbs, and I got 5 servings of tomato soup that will be lunch sometime this winter. I will be making soup every weekend for the next several months. I freeze the soup in serving size jars. Right now I have about 6 weeks worth of soups.

During the summer I puree a variety of fruits, including strawberries, blueberries, and bananas and store jars of that in the deep freeze, I still have several jars in the deep freeze now.
