There have been many protests in my city, and twice my office has closed in an excess of security. I work for a hospital, and they sent all non patient care staff home, the hospital is only blocks from the protest sites. I have chosen to go home rather than attend the protest. I am past 60, overweight, my knees are bad and I have sciatica. Running is not an option, standing long isn't comfortable, and I've been gassed before, it isn't something I want to repeat. (I was active duty Army 40 years ago.) Nope, I can't be out on the front lines anymore, but I do support those that are out there.

Live in the immediate metro area, I don't do long distance. Be reasonably organized and tidy. Lots of insects have cycles like this. I remember being in eastern Massachusetts and some sort of grub had emerged after x number of years. We could not walk anywhere without crunching the damn critters. The decimated the leaves on hundreds of trees. The trees did releaf after that but for a few weeks it was really weird. I can't remember which critter it was, I'm sure it will come to me tomorrow at 0300.

It has been years since I set foot in WM. However, one of my kids worked for a company that was bought out by WM, so she's was working for them for several years. As they gave a really good employee discount, that is where she got most of her groceries. And when the Quarantine started, she started getting my groceries for me, so alas and alack, I've got WM bags in my house again. The sorta good news, she knew he job was winding down because they relocated all the operation here to California, and she chose not to make the move. She is an IT person and worked remotely, they kept her on to help with the transition, then delayed her termination due to Covid. As of the end of this month she is no longer a WM employee. She is unemployed in the midst of Covid, but at least she had a tidy severance package.
