I am a seamstress. I make clothing and home decor. I make quilts, currently have three in progress, they will be same fabrics but different arrangements, one for each of my girls. I knit and crochet. Current project is a dishcloth. I used to make beaded jewelry, and then the holes in the beads got too small. If reading is a hobby I have a stack of library books waiting to be read. I make soaps, lotions, lip balms. Soap is fun, like a chemistry experiment. I garden, it is tomato harvest time :)

The way I see it, too many men want a NSA arrangement, especially men in my age group. Or conversely when I was first single, about 10 years ago I met lots of guys looking for someone to take care of their kids. Recently I have encountered some men looking for "nurses with purses." To me NSA says he is looking to get laid and doesn't really care about me. I'm not looking to raise more kids and I'm not looking to be a nurse. When a woman passes menopause and has been without for a length of time, care needs to be taken, the playground has changed in some ways. I like men and would like to be in a relationship with a man again someday. But I want a lasting relationship, that takes time. I don't want to rush, and I don't want to rush to bed either.

I grew up in Nebraska where the mantra is Go Big Red. Big Red being the Cornhuskers, the college football team. I never got it. The only sports I voluntarily watch are ice skating and gymnastics. I chose to watch a superbowl one year, what a waste of an afternoon. Aside from the fact that we pay athletes way too much and don't hold them accountable for their actions, we pay millions in taxpayer dollars for stadiums the taxpayer cannot afford to attend. Yes, it feels like she is insensitive to announce her engagement, but her life is going on. You have some grief work to do before you can move on. Yes, it is work and it has no timeline. You just lost your mom yesterday, even though you "knew" it was coming, nothing prepares you for when it actually happens. So with deepest love for you I tell you cut her some slack, and cut yourself some slack. Your emotions are totally normal, grief sucks. The next few weeks and months will be unpredictable at best. It might be a good time to take a break from FB, possibly other social media, even Agnostic if you need to. Life goes on, and people are going to celebrate milestones in their lives. Your day will come, but right now you have to deal with grief. You know this community will be a safe sounding board for you.
