Cool!
So tell me,why did/did not online dating work for you?
HippieChick58 comments on May 6, 2019:
I have few regrets, I learned some good lessons. I signed up because I was single, post divorce, and just did not know many single men my age, or indeed any single men close to my age. I may have a few regrets, spending too much time corresponding with men I suspected were scammers would be one. I think part of the reason it didn't work is that I am not willing to settle. I had one man who was very interested in me, but he didn't seem to catch on to the idea that I was not a Christian, I love to read, he hadn't read a book since high school, and he had kids involved with gangs. I also got the vibe he was really desperate for a quick commitment. I live in an very conservative area, I'm not conservative. Mostly through online dating I was able to figure out what I didn't want. I still haven't found what I want, but I'm not actively looking now. If it happens it happens. I'm getting the same results as I was when I was looking.

HippieChick58 comments on May 5, 2019:
I've been called a liberal bleeding heart snowflake gun hating bitch, and ya know, that's pretty accurate. When a woman is called a bitch it is usually by a man who wants to control her. Doesn't hurt my feelings. As for gun control, I've handled an M16A1 rifle, I have an expert badge. I was a good shot. Do I think any civilian needs to own one, OH HELL NO! They are created for mass casualty. If you fire fully automatic you have NO ACCURACY after the third shot. No civilian needs to do that. And I figure if I am a snowflake, I have snowflake friends. I live in the middle of the country where snowfall happens. When snowflakes stick together and get agitated it is called a blizzard and can change the course of history. Others can call me what they want, the people I care about call me Grammy, Mom, or Paula. Anyone else can kiss my flabby hiney.

HippieChick58 comments on May 4, 2019:
Late October 2016, I lost track of the amount of caffeine I was drinking. I was needing to be alert, but I way overdid. It was a Thursday and I'm usually up at 5:30ish. I ended up in the ER Thursday night due to a panic attack from the caffeine, after they tested me, they sent me home told me to lay off the coffee. I had to work on Friday and be alert but I cut the coffee off at noon. I think I went to bed about 8 pm and slept for 12 hours.

And it means you bow to me and do what I say, and give me your money and your goods. So that gets a NO from me.

From the website you can find chapters in your area: https://americanhumanist.org/get-involved/find-or-start-a-chapter/ I have been active with my local chapter for almost 3 years I think. They are an awesome group of folks and we have great conversations, do some public good, and it is so good to spend time with like minded adults. So check out the link, see if there is anything near you. Also try Meet Up, you might find groups of non believers that way. Omaha (my city) had a Meet Up group called REASON, and I think that stands for Rationalists, Empiricists, And Skeptics Of Nebraska. Many members of REASON are also members of the Humanist group. Don't give up, there are others out there, sometimes you just have to hunt them down.

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 28, 2019:
I have a worm bin. It was in the kitchen but it got infested with fruit flies last fall, so it got moved to the garage. Then when it got REALLY cold I moved it into the basement. I will be moving it back to the garage soon. I love it, I switch it out about twice a year. Mine is only two bins, top and bottom; made out of plastic storage containers with lots of holes drilled in the right places. I will add the castings in the bottom bin to the garden soon, and then fill it with damp shredded newspaper. Then it will become the top bin where I add the kitchen scraps. The worm will travel to the top bin when they are finished with the bottom bin. I find it fascinating!

January 13, 2021 My newest and smallest grandchild. She arrived 5 weeks early and is now 2.5 weeks old and is less than 7 pounds. I've never held such a small baby before. She is quite perfect and very amazing. I love being a Grammy.
