Do you support Trump?

I completely believe that the US government needs to be completely revamped and revised before we can actually do any good for this country. But - taking that out of the equation, for now, I'd really love to hear people's (honest, respectful and mature) reasons why they do or do not support Trump. (or is unsure). Please, no disrespect or rudeness. He is our president and deserves at least the respect that position affords him (that does not mean we agree with him, but we shouldn't be slinging insults and such)

Like most here, no support of the government.

1

No! I wish him the very worst and that is probably too good for him. He's the scum of the Earth.

Looks like people here have brains that they don't sit on.

Unfortunately it seems most of the atheist on this website with the exception of the conservative group are Obama loving, Trump bashing, gun grabbing left wing liberal idiots!

I didn't vote for either of them and I have not one single regret about that.

I realize the office of our President deserves respect, but I CANNOT respect trump! Not now, not ever...not as long as he behaves beneath the office of THE PRESIDENT of the United States! I will regard him as a human being and do not wish him 'ill will'...but do not ask or force me to respect someone for whom I can find...not one reason to do so! That would be insane!

1

No, please get him out of there. I personally support the efforts to permanently divide the country into smaller more ideologically similar country's like Cascadia.

Interesting concept.Ever read Riverworld? You might like it and its commentary on the human social condition.

I don’t really have anything nice to say about the man. It’s hard for me to give the respect afforded by the position itself when he doesn’t even respect the position he’s in. Savvy? I didn’t like Obama much, but he had class and integrity and knew where he was and how he got there and showed it the respect it deserves. 45 is going to dismantle as many things Obama did as he can, piss off the world at large and get us into one or several conflicts with other nations....all while blowing the dog whistle for his base and creating conditions RIPE for Civil War pt. 2....we can see that happening right now. No, I don’t like him or support him. He’s there for all the wrong reasons and it will take decades to return this country to being pre-MAGA great again.

Trump represents the worst kind of being on this planet

1

Can't wait until he's a footnote in history.

Unfortunately, I Am "Not" Supporter of Trump At All Or His Views...I Did Not Vote Neither For Clinton Nor Trump But I Voted For 3rd Party Candidate, Jill Stein (Green Party) Instand.

Then you helped elect Trump

@TheMiddleWay So did Putin, Fox news, and the people who voted for third party candidates

1

Not in anyone's wildest imaginings would I support Trump.

1

Being an educated, reasonable intelligent, caring person with a daughter and g'daughter ... NO. I think trump is the worst possible 'POTUS". He is everything America stands against. He is undoing America.

1

Just like Brexit is destroying the world's image of UK ,Trump is destroying the image of the good in America. It is fortunate I know a few good Americans and am related to others. He thinks that negotiating and diplomatic powers of a president are the same as those for negotiating the Trump tower. No one should be elected as president unless in a previous post he achieved some real social gains for people. I am not fully aware of his full political history.

1

It seems the majority of Trump’s supporters emerge from the “straight white christian cisgendered” community, and not always the innocent ones... I’ll just leave it at that.

1

I support Trump the way I support my brain. Sometimes I can be stupid and stubborn, but that does not mean I want to cut off my own head. Personally I think he is a freaking maniac, but wishing for him to fail is essentially the same as wishing for our country to fail. I don't want our country to fail. I truly wish we had someone else in the white house, but I don't think Hillary was any better. We had a choice of get our throats cut or get beheaded. I'm waiting to find out which one america chose.

1

I love what the poll shows. Can we say those that are brainwashed by Christianity are the only idiots that supports Trump? I should rephrase this question with my respect, but I just can't.

Let's not pick on Christians. The ones who voted for Trump simply cannot think for themselves and lack common sense.

There, now it's all inclusive. Lol

1

Heeeeellllllll NO! I didn't want him from the start! I know that Hillary was bad news, too. In a way, I preferred Trump over her, because she was shifty. At least Trump was honest about his horrible, Racist ideals. But here's what SO many people didn't understand: THERE WERE OTHER CANDIDATES!!!!

1

I don't see what supporting or not supporting the idiot has to do with being atheist or agnostic.

That's like going into one of your Trump sites and saying "Is poop food?" While most of the Trump supporters would agree that it was...being fed it constantly by their hero...it wouldn't have anything to do with the subject at hand.

I bet you're just one of those confederate nazi types hunting all the social media sites in hopes you can find one or two other people...obviously not in the state you live in, that agree with your beliefs. Remember, Trump won with only 8% of the total population voting for him. You're a bigger minority than the black people are. A white....minority.

And most of the country is backwards and bible beating. That isn’t an ideal that we want to achieve.

Also, Harleyman is misunderstanding the poll numbers. Typical for a low-IQ redneck. He's taking poll numbers showing what Trump got OUT OF THOSE THAT VOTED. I'm talking about the number of votes Trump got OUT OF THE ENTIRE POPULATION. Two different polls. You may be 100% correct that 46.1% of the National vote went to Trump, but that doesn't say how many people we participants in the national vote. 2016 was the lowest voter turnout in the United States EVER. Only like 14% of the entire population voted. The bulk of the Left threw in the towel when Bernie was cheated out of his win and wouldn't support the DNC. Trump's support on the republican side was so low that he had big name republicans like the Bush family and the Cheney family voting for Hillary instead of him. Only 14% of the nation voted, and out of that, Trump got 8%. But believe what you want to believe, redneck. You got a one-term chance at being happy you're a racist. congrats on that.

I do not support any United States president as they are all product of imperialism and capitalism.

1

We as a Nation should move away from the old ways of English thinking. We should be allowed to evolve into a society that can govern itself.

Amen to that... or I mean yes to that. Lol

Well... he's really not as tough as he acts. Hes already stated money allows privilege. He stated he could touch a female and they would not react. That they would allow this behavior. We got guys in the news for just asking if they could hook up. Some of them are finally getting noticed for rape. Thats good. Its hard to make a statement on my opinion. I will say those who own the gold, makes the rules. Money can buy a lot of things. Fear can cause people to vote a differant person in. Other then the one they really wanted elected. You ever noticed that the big guy in the school yard rules. Its hard to convince 6 smaller guys to take him on. Then theres pay back. You can't win. My boss told me one day... Bob, you don't know big business. He's right. He owned all the maintenance in our plant plus contractors too. So... you only got my opinion.

You're describing what is known as a fake alpha male.
Fake alpha males are self-centered, loud, brash and borish, and their empires sit on foundations of sand. Donald Trump is a fake alpha male. Kim Jung Un is a fake alpha male.
When the empires of people like this fall, the crash is immediate and spectacular because they've built little or no support system to hold back the tide.

Most real alpha males don't even bother with people like this. They build empires quietly and surround themselves with a large group of friends and acquaintences who will be loyal or at the very least non-commital when hard times hit.

Let's say both Donald Trump and Nick Hanaur (a real alpha male) get hit with a major catastroply tomorrow. Which one do you suppose will have the sharks circling? Which one of these men do you think will be likely to survive and thrive?

Trump has already used up what little good will he inherited from his father. He's been bailed out of bankruptcy numerous times by people who aren't going to be there for him anymore. Now he's having to rely on the kind of people who expect immediate renumeration with high interest, and when it doesn't come the consequences for him will be dire.

The plutocrats who are yanking his chain will be able to do some damage with him in the Oval Office, but what then? What happens in 2018 if Republicans lose the majority in both the house and senate and he's a lame duck president?

As for me, I'm betting that the end of net neutrality will be the straw that breaks the camels back for Trump. He's teetering on the precipice as it is, and while people can brush off a lot, when it comes to something which effects their daily lives, it's a whole different can of worms.

1

Canadian here- ehh. I have no vote really. Appalled by Trump but I see 13 votes in support. We all have opinions....

1

No no no no no. I never liked him but I gave him the benefit of doubt because I was hoping he was going to do something good. I was in Florida during the elections and I remember people constantly knocking on my door to get me to come out and vote for Hillary. I didn't vote I thought both of them were garbage.
