@Rossy92 During the 85-89 year's the metal they played on the radio was pop disguised as "metal". Those days you had to listen to bands like Iron Maiden and Slayer on your own and that's what I did. I also liked classic rock at that time and would listen to a little bit of new wave and punk from other friends, I liked it but never really listened to those genres on my own. I got into Jazz during those year's too, a friend picked up being a radio jockey at the local jazz music station and would get us into those concerts for free, fun times and I was introduced to Sypro Gyra and I'm trying to remember the other name of the band that I liked it's been a long time since I listened to jazz, I need to get back into it.

@Rossy92 I was introduced to metal by age 11- 12 by my friends older brothers who were musicians. I still to this day thank them for it! So I have been fans of most of these band's since then. I would buy up their cassette tapes when you could join that club buying 12 for one cent. Another way I would by metal music was by babysitting and using my birthday and Christmas money from my grandparents. I still love metal music to this day. I'm happy you discovered it and appreciate it, a lot of people don't get it, they think it's just noise and don't realize some of these guys are really talented.
