It is great to have a support network when battling cancers, great for the person battling it and just as great for the partner or the parent as I was when it was my daughter fighting it. We were lucky here in Australia because from diagnosis right through we had the Childhood Cancer Association and the Canteen Association (Teenage Cancer Support Association) among heaps of others as well.

To my way of seeing it We, Atheists, etc, used our reasoning minds to fathom out truth from fiction, fact from fallacy and have become wiser for it. Whereas there ARE intelligent peoples among the 'believers' they seem more than happy to merely close off their reasoning minds and accept without question or doubt what they have been told as being 'truth.' As once was said, " The wise person NEVER ceases to question, research and learn, that is what makes him/her wise and intelligent."- Author Unknown at present.

The river, returned by its strength by the rains, is joyful.
Triphid comments on Mar 31, 2019:
So earnestly wish and hope that would happen to our Mighty and now dying Darling River here. It's dying because successive Governments have turned blind eyes to the Cotton and Rice Growers up north of here sucking the tributaries dry of every drop of water they can. In recent months we've seen millions of native fish kills from stinking, fetid, stagnant water in pools where once there was ALWAYS a strongly flowing river.

One attitude I'll never change is "I'll not suffer fools gladly,"especially the truly annoying pestilent types of Faithfools. And speaking of Faithfools, one can easily note that the Xrstian season is nigh because yesterday, here in my town, the Jehos were traveling around 2x2 inviting everyone to join them in celebrating and remembering the anniversary of the death, etc, of their mythological hero. I think Ive offended them in some way in the past because they didn't invite me, a cause for yet another celebration in my house I'd say.

Triphid comments on Mar 29, 2019:
When that asteroid/meteor hit almost everything within a few thousand miles radius of the impact would have either been blasted to shit or had the shit blasted out of them. Kind of like quite few years ago when I had been helping a good friend to muster his 3,000+ sheep over 2 days and we all decided to have a big campfire in the clay pan about 50 yards from the homestead. We were sitting and discussing how and when we'd finally demolish the very old wood and corrugated iron long-drop toilet that was no longer used or needed WHEN, suddenly out of the night sky came a flash of something burning and heading earthwards in bloody huge rush, then a massive crashing noise, a cloud of dust and long dried out excrement, etc, pieces of burning wood and shredded corrugated iron flying in all directions from about 500 yards away. After we'd all hit the dirt asap, then gotten up and dusted ourselves off, we went over to find a nice crater about 10 feet in diameter, complete with a nasty smelling smoke cloud hanging and at least 25 feet deep where the toilet had once been. A week later, after things had settled down, a team from a University came along an excavated out the hole and raised a meteorite from it that weighed in at a tidy 4.5 kilograms and was about the size of a soccer ball, tests showed that is mostly iron in composition mixed with rock. The grazier friend of mine got a nice cheque for $1,700 and very neat hole for his troubles, the rest of us, all 3, got a carton of beer and some very interesting memories.

I live alone in Australia, some would say " Way out in the back blocks," my pension after bills, etc, are taken out comes to around $500 in hand, out of which I spend between $180 and $250 per fortnight at the Supermarket for groceries that will last me for the fortnight, not including bread, etc, which I need to buy at least twice per week. I buy meat in bulk when I can as do I with vegetable, I grow my own vegetables as often as possible, I cook at least ONE good and nourishing, satisfying meal per day, make my own salads in the warmer weather and soups in the colder weather, the soups I make in bulk and freeze so I always have them available. I have a few free ranging chickens for eggs, though in the hotter weather they cease laying. My only major vice is that I am a smoker of roll your own cigarettes ( tobacco of course). So, I think I'm doing fairly well in regards to cooking, etc, for myself.

I will state, proclaim, etc, most firmly and ardently that the exposure of Catholic Church and it's inherent Abuse of Children, etc, in recent times is MERELY the TIP of an iceberg far, far bigger than anyone can ever hope to imagine. Most sadly and regretfully, abuse takes on many, innumerable forms and guises from Physical through to Sexual, Emotional, Mental and combinations of them all included, it IS NOT solely inherent to Catholicism, it is rife through ALL religions, particularly the 3 main Abrahamic based religions as well innumerable other Government and Non-Government Institutions and Agencies. A full and complete probe and examination, public of course, SHOULD be conducted into each and every one of them with NO exceptions/exemptions granted what-so-ever and SHOULD be delving back, not a few decades BUT centuries instead. This foul, inhuman PLAGUE MUST be exposed and eradicated immediately, permanently once and for ALL time.

Triphid comments on Mar 28, 2019:
What IS a soul; A) in religio-speak, an invisible, imaginary entity constructed by religious ideology and constrained within a living being that only finds release with corporeal death, b) something that neither science nor medicine has ever detected, c) a way/method of Authorities to AVOID saying the numbers of ACTUAL lives lost in any disaster, i.e. a cop-out, Personally speaking, I prefer to think that we all have an individual, internal 'persona' that begins to develop from short after birth that is driven by minute electrical impulses with in our brain and governed by the surrounding, etc, that we grow among and, like our frail, corporeal bodies, it too dissipates after death. Ergo, there is NO soul.

Triphid comments on Mar 28, 2019:
My school friends and I got up to innumerable things that may be classed as weird or simply crazy. I like to think that perhaps our best ones were; a) replacing the flag by hoisting up the largest pair of bra and knickers we could ' borrow' from a clothes line nearby, b) 'borrowing' the Colonel Sanders effigy from the KFC store and firmly fixing to the roof of the Home Economics Department, c) putting a small amount of PVA glue mixed with water in condoms and leaving them around the school, and last but not least our best of all, d) during a science experiment, making rudimentary Nitro-glycerine, about 15 millilitres and blowing apart the rubbish bin in the Lab.

Triphid comments on Mar 27, 2019:
Hey, I've always been an Atheist so I'll eat red meat ANY time I choose and it has gotten me some very fierce and disapproving looks from the Faithfools especially on the times, rare times I might say, that I've dined out on a Friday and deliberately ordered a red meat dish instead of fish. Piss and blood I say to the Faithfools, eating fish on Fridays is NOT a commandment in the Goat-Herders Guide to the Galaxy, it IS an edict passed down from one the Popes, i.e. Protectors of Paedophile Employees.

Triphid comments on Mar 27, 2019:
I recently had the chance to watch a Documentary where a similar excavation and research expedition was done and discovered the precise location and course of the channel dug by Ancient Egyptians from the Nile to the Pyramids of Giza was used to transports blocks of stone often weighing at 10 tons and more by water craft built especially for that purpose. The expedition even built a craft to the exact measurements, using the exact same methods and materials as the Egyptians, loaded a block of stone weighing 10 tons onto it and sailed it across the Nile from one side to the other proving conclusively that it could be done.

Is there really a God to discuss ?
Triphid comments on Mar 26, 2019:
Well, the Faithfools INSIST that there MUST be a God, we Atheists are pretty darned certain that there is NOT a God, the Agnostics are merely, imo, just hedging their bets, but either way it is a subject, be it somewhat moot, can and does create a lively debate which is far more enjoyable than politics for example.
My take on Xian mythology.
Triphid comments on Mar 26, 2019:
So this Omnipotent God Being who can create life, HUMAN or animal, etc, from mere dust ACTUALLY needs to have an ANGEL impregnate a human woman to re-create himself when he already created life from dust, so he can sacrifice himself, which is NOT really a sacrifice anyway because he cannot die, to himself to gain forgiveness for his creations that he already knew that they would sin in the first place because he is Omniscient ( All Knowing). Yeah that makes a lot of sense, NOT.

Is there anybody here, like me, who was never religious?
Triphid comments on Mar 26, 2019:
I'd guess I'd fit the bill here, brought up by an atheist father who was married to a Theistic woman who PHYSICALLY forced me to attend EVER available Sunday School from which, by the time I was 10 years old I had been EXPELLED from for merely asking questions because I wanted answers and also EXPELLED from Primary School Scripture Classes for exactly the same reason. Praised by my father for my curiosity, cursed by my 'mother' for being a Heretic, Heathen, etc, etc, I have remained a staunch Atheists all of my life and shall remain so even on my death-bed.
Which came first: society or a fear of god? | PBS NewsHour
Triphid comments on Mar 26, 2019:
As humans evolved more of a clan structure rather than merely nomadic family type groups I'd lean towards the idea that society arose long before any religious based belief system/s. Most mammals congregate in groups/herds for protection, etc, i.e. they are socially based groups, for example, our closest primate 'relatives', the apes all congregate in what maybe deemed as clans/groups with an obvious social order but NONE exhibit a religious, or seemingly religious base to those groups/clans. Ergo, and psychologically speaking here, religion/s must have been invented well after societies evolved and with the probability that one or more of the more members of each society, possibly through either sheer laziness or self-interest, discovered that by portraying him/herself as a 'conduit' to the spirits/god/gods then he/she could live a far better and easier life by catering to gullibilities of his/her fellow group members and accepting their adorations and offerings as such a 'condiut.'
Start investing agnostics!!! "What should we do with all those abandoned churches?
Triphid comments on Mar 26, 2019:

Religion. The root of evil?
Triphid comments on Mar 26, 2019:
Evil, imho, in that it suppresses human sociological advancement and scientific research ,etc, it also purveys ideologies of divisiveness, ethnic vilification, misogyny, hatred towards those who either follow a different system of belief or have no belief what-so-ever, etc, etc. It also seeks to restrict personal development, personal rights ( the right of a woman to choose what happens to HER body for example), it not only seeks to have influence/control in Legitimate Governments but actually EXERTS control as we are ALL aware. It has, historically, been the causative factor in more Deaths than the last 2 World Wars put together and still continues to do so unabated.

Sadly, very, very sadly it looks like the bloody Liberal Scum have gotten back in but they lost Barwon to the Fishers,Farmers and Shooters Party (one good bit of news) and the seat of Murray as well to F.F.S. Party. The Liberal Scum did their usual scam jobs on everything EAST of Dubbo by promising better roads and infrastructure, etc, etc,,throwing mulloch at every other party and person in the election and those selfish, self-centred idiots east of Dubbo swallowed the lot, hook, line and sinker. So very little good came out if for use poor bastards living way out west of Dubbo except we've given the Libs a small sign that we are sick to death of them. The Cotton and Rice water thieves will still have free reign over the Upper Reaches of the Darling River and will continue to suck it dry. A small bit of good news is that, for once the BoM got it right, we are getting a bit of steady, light rain here in Broken Hill for the fist time in quite a long time.
I’m sure there’s a story here. Homossassa River in central Florida.

You should have seen my nephew, Henry, when I confront him with a nice, ripe 8.5 kilo home-grown watermelon just over a year ago. It was like watching a pack of lions devouring a group of poachers in an African Nature Reserve, teeth slashing away left and right, juice streaming down his chin and jaws going like scythes in a field of wheat. The watermelon didn't stand a chance....LOL.
A little something for the Brits..
Triphid comments on Mar 22, 2019:
It would seem that Poms ( Brits) still cling vainly to the idea that the "Sun never sets on the British Empire" and " Britannia Rules the Waves." Wake up Poms, you jumped, with great gusto, feet first into the E.U., you ARE a peoples living on a small island surrounded by a BIG, WIDE, World, a world in which you no longer have the final say, get a frigging life, build a bloody bridge and get over it.
We as humans trying to figure out where we came from is a little absurd, the cockroaches been ...
Triphid comments on Mar 22, 2019:
A cockroach simply exists to eat, breed and die, it scurries away from light, it lives in fear because it knows no better nor cares about anything except itself. When confronted with a 'starve and die' situation cockroaches WILL turn on the weakest/youngest/ slowest of their own kind and devour them. Humans, for the most part, on the other hand strive to learn, don't fear light, overcame darkness, etc, etc, have invented a social order of sorts, care for their young ( well the majority of us do) and those around us and seek to advance ourselves through knowledge rather than fear, etc. Personally, I'd rather be a human whose residence on this planet has been relatively short in Geological terms than a cringing, fear-filled, uncaring, selfish cockroach with a Million years of existence any day.
Sounds right to me.

In my honest opinion, WITHOUT the harmful influences of Religions, especially the 3 main Abrahamic Cults, the advancement and development of Human Society, Knowledge, etc, etc, would be at least 2,000+ years ahead of where it stands today.
Well girls and boys, I decided that I am going to do it.

Best of Luck to you, my friend.
The only French pastry I have ever made was French bread.

Hey, wait a minute, that can't be correct since the Faithfools will tell you that the earth is only 6,500 years old according to their great book the Goat-herders Guide to the Galaxy ( aka the bible).
Awesome moment at work.

I have a very old retort that I enjoy using when someone mentions Jesus, I simply respond with, " I'm sorry but my son is busy at the moment, can I take him a message for you?"

Jeez Louise, this one takes me me way, way back in time. I was in a band way back in my High School days, we called ourselves 'The Miners,' we got quite a few gigs at School Dances and parties and ' Sugar, Sugar' was a kind of signature tune for us.
Will they ever get tired of "atheism is just another religion" argument?
Triphid comments on Mar 21, 2019:
Nope, simply because it's their 'default' mechanism, they see everything as being a Religious Belief and absolutely NOTHING will change their tiny, weak, feeble minds.
