13 Feb 2019 - Diet Diary - I'm baaaaack! No, the days off did not bode well for me. Ate more than planned both days, guessing in the range of 15-16K, no guess on salt. I think I had not really committed to meeting my Feb 15 goal and as it got near, I knew I would have to limit to an unhealthy level for 3-4 days to meet it. So, what did I do instead? Yeah, ate more! I've been a bit susceptible to frustration lately and that is not good. Years as an emotional eater are not easy to overcome and frustration/anger/sadness are big triggers.

Intake today was low, making up a bit for the last couple days. Finished at 1115 with salt under 1200. Still had a BP spike though, not sure if I need to keep checking salt since it doesn't seem to make a difference unless I go absolutely nuts on it. Even then, it is debatable whether the salt is involved. Eating is not the only thing about me that is influenced by emotions.

I have history of severe gallbladder attacks, hives (some severe) weight gain (of course) and strangely, weight loss and asthma, largely prompted by emotional stresses. I wouldn't have known about the asthma but after my AFib diagnosis and learning that Albuterol could trigger an episode, I decided I would rather wheeze than have Afib so I quit using the inhaler. Yep, pretty much completely quite having asthma episodes as well. Given the options, I guess I would rather have problems with eating because even if I lose it for a few days, I CAN CONTROL IT!!

Threw myself into my project the last couple days, got plaster done on the wall and painted. Today also patched some defects in the dining room walls, particularly around the large window. I think the house settled some, causing cracks in the plaster joints. Will be able to paint those tomorrow. Then can start on the shelves and painting the cabinets. Keeping this busy today did help, need to have more days like this. Plus, I might get some projects done.

The cabinets are looking great and the wall colour is really pretty. Very fresh and soothing. Life is hard for us emotional eaters! You are still in control though, by the sound of it. What is your next target after Feb. 15? Just because you didn't quite make this one doesn't mean you can't make the next one.

Thanks! I like the color, it is VERY close to what I put in the kitchen several years ago. I thought I got the same color, NEVER "think" you have the same color, hold on to that mix recipe. Anyway, what I got was a bit bluer tone but I had a little of the original paint and a little pale yellow which I mixed in. I have really become a fan of green the last few years. Used to like blues best, now it is too "cool" for my tastes.

I went on FitWatch tonight and set my new goals. I'm going pretty easy on myself, only 3.6 pounds to reach by March 30. Will then be only 4 pounds from my final goal, set for May 15. Would be nice to get there sooner but it will require me buckling down a bit more than I have since the holidays were over. The last 2 days have gone pretty well but I'm "drifty" and I have to work out a couple issues with family to relieve some of the stress.

Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.
