2 April 2019 - Diet Diary - More painting today, I'm thinking I like the white on the doors and trim. Have trim on one more door to do then need to paint the door in the ceiling. Pull down attic access has a wood door and trim like the doors. The ceiling will be white anyway but I'll use the semi-gloss for the access door and flat for the ceiling.

Made a cabbage and sausage bake for supper, the original recipe had ONLY cabbage, ground Italian sausage and butter in it. The second time I made it I added thin sliced potatoes. It is shocking how good it turns out. Neighbor enjoyed it, too. She says it is a definite "keeper" recipe. Not too bad on calories, I do limit the butter to 2 Tbsp for the entire dish. Finished the day at around 1220.

Tomorrow, have to deal with the dog issue, not an optimistic outlook. Better go to bed, have to get up to have him at the vet on time.

Your sausage bake sounds good. What sort of sausage did you use? Was it pepperoni? I'm sorry you have worries about your dog. I hope the visit to the vet is positive.

It is ground, Italian sausage, sweet, not spicy, although you could use either I think. It is very simple to make but it cooks for the longest time. Recipe says 2.5 hours at 300° and it does come out very tasty but I have cooked it for less time at 350° and I made it in a slow cooker one time and it came out fine, although it cooked even longer then. The flavors all blend together wonderfully with such long cooking.
