Texas Woman Meredith McKee Tearfully Reveals She Tested Positive For COVID-19 A Second Time

I saw the comment by @SeaGreenEyez about faulty test results. Given the symptoms suffered both times by Ms. McKee, I find it difficult to write this off as faulty test results. If it is the case, as it appears to be, that she has indeed contracted the virus twice, that is very bad news and ...

@AnneWimsey, actually, according to the FBI's numbers, there are more whites arrested than any other group. About 60% of all arrests are of white suspects. About 24% of all arrests are of black suspects. Once again, the numbers are very disproportionate, but cops arrest far more whites than blacks.

@TimeOutForMe, I don't think people here are ready for what's coming. Just from the the Trump rally today in Tulsa I can easily see half a million new cases by the end of July. Lest you think I'm exaggerating, consider the choir practice in Washington State. They had social distancing, used hand sanitizer, did everything by the book. Out of 60 people, 42 came down with COVID-19. Apply the same 70% to the 19,000 people in the arena for Trump's rally and it works out to 13,300. That's just the people who get into the arena. Trump was talking about using the hall next door for an overflow of 40,000. Now we are talking 41,300. Remember, there are probably another +/-40,000 who will be in Tulsa but won't get into the rally. I'd say we are lucky if the number stays under 50,000. BTW, that 50k is initial cases. Given that most of these people are not likely to wear mask, or spend time with people who do, the R value on this group will very likely be 3 or higher. We could easily be looking at half a million new cases by the end of July. I hope I'm wrong, but not willing to bet that I am. Let's see if Jacksonville learns anything from this in time to cancel the RNC convention.

@azzow2, NO!!! Term limits may sound great. They are terrible. I know. We have them here in California. Before term limits, if I was having a problem with some state bureaucrat, I could call my state Senator or Assemblyperson and get the issue handled. Now, by the time my elected representatives learn enough to actually represent me and be of help, they are termed out. The state is no longer governed by the representatives of the people. It is run by the lobbyist and bureaucrats, and we have no way to vote them out.

The police used that as the excuse for murdering him. The second case involved someone who flipped out and went berserk with a pair of scissors in Target. The police showed up just as her was leaving. They chased him in his car to the beach. While he was running away from them down the beach they shot him in the back. It was cold blooded murder.

The photo was taken from north of the statue looking south at the White House. Immediately north of the park, just across the street, is St. Johns. If the smoke was from a fire at St. John's it would have had to have drifted all of 25 or 30 feet. Actually, the bollards in the foreground of the original picture put the photographer within less than 25 feet of St. John's. The NY Times did not run a fake picture on page 1. @Maximai, it's time to call the DNC out. If they want to win they HAVE to have the progressive vote. Maybe you are ok with Nancy Pelosi selling us out by giving the fat cats and their corporations trillions with basically no oversight while all each of us got was a check for $1,200. She didn't have to sign off on that deal. Big business and the banksters were screaming for the Congress to pass the bill. She had all the leverage she needed to get everything she should have been asking for. The neo-liberals sold out the American people again. If Pelosi and the DNC don't want to play hardball on behalf of the people, it's time we play hardball against them.

@JackPedigo, enough of your bullshit. It wasn't the Bernie voters who refused to campaign for Hillary in the swing states that cost her the election. It was Hillary Clinton who refused to go to those states. The people from Bernie's campaign on the ground in those states were trying to help her. That, in and of itself, was remarkable considering how she had them locked out of the last night of the convention. So, what happened when they tried to warn and to help her? She refused to even listen to them. It was Hillary Clinton's narcissistic sense of entitlement that cost her the election. Ok, maybe part of it was the fact that Bill Clinton and Obama had both been instrumental in offshoring so many jobs and she was pushing for more of the same.

mcgeo52 replies on Apr 20, 2020:
@JackPedigo, the 2016 election wasn’t about gender. Get over that BS right now. It was about what most elections are about. People vote their pocketbooks. They don’t vote Wall St.’s pocketbook, they vote their own personal pocketbooks. People (i.e., the American voters) have watched the decimation of the American middle class over the last four decades. They want hope snd they need change, just to survive. Obama’s neoliberal policies did not deliver on change that would really help the middle class. Hillary promised four more years of the same policies that had created the rust belt. Trump tapped in to the deep seated dissatisfaction that wanted change and ran as a populist, promising to bring jobs back and MAGA. The people rejected four more years of failed neoliberal policies in 2016. What makes you think they will embrace them in 2020? The fact that people have seen just how bad Trump is may give Biden a chance, but he is far from the best candidate to run against Trump.

mcgeo52 replies on Apr 10, 2020:
@JackPedigo, I believe history will say otherwise, based on the following facts: Reagan was elected because of the treasonous Iran Contra deal. His first act as President was to remove the solar panels Jimmy Carter had installed on the White House roof. He then set about systematically destroying the energy policies and plans put in place by Carter. Those would have had us energy independent by 2020 and made the first gulf war unnecessary. He busted P.A.T.C.O. and began the demise of the middle class. He did away with the fairness doctrine and opened the airwaves for right wing talk radio and Fox News [sic]. His handling of AIDS may or may not prove to be as deadly as Trump's mishandling of coronavirus. He turned the greatest creditor nation in history to the greatest debtor nation in the world in less than eight years. In short, Reagan started with a fundamentally sound country and left a disaster in the making.
