@Duke, look at the most recent example, gay marriage. It did not become the law of the entire land by an act of Congress. Abortion was illegal in many states until Roe v. Wade. Schools were segregate by law in many states until Brown v. Board of Education. The Court obviously has much more influence than you realize.

@Freedompath, start with the fact that many conservatives are racists to begin with and you start to understand just how little moral compass they had to sacrifice. But I'm not all that thrilled by the Democrats on the committee. I'm wondering why Christine Blasey Ford even had to come forward to try to stop Kavanaugh's elevation to the Supreme Court. It is already a proven fact that Kavanaugh committed perjury in his original confirmation hearing, and also in the present hearing. Is there no one on that committee with the self respect to refuse to be lied to like that? Is there no one on that committee with the integrity and the spine to demand that Kavanaugh not only withdraw his nomination, but also step down from the bench. That is what every last member of that committee should be doing. I don't understand why we don't have even a single Democrat doing it and calling out the Republicans for being nothing but cowards being bullied by McConnell and Trump into doing what they know is wrong.
This sounds hopeful.

@Freedompath, tRumps best path forward is to cut a deal with Mueller. I guarantee tRump will not like the terms: • Televised full confession • Resignation • Plea to federal felonies • Stiff fines and restitution • A year or so in Club Fed Why would he take those terms? His alternative is the NY AG goes after him. The big debate among the Democratic AG candidates in the primary was who could and would stick it to trump the hardest. Unless he cuts a deal with Mueller, he's looking at: • RICO indictments and warrants that will seize or freeze everthing he owns or could get access to • State felony charges sufficient to put him away for the rest of his life • He dies penniless in Sing Sing or Attica. So, which is it gonna be, Donnie, Door #1 with Robert Mueller, Door #2 with the NY AG, or Door #3? Oh, wait! There is NO Door #3. No, it won't be long and drawn out when Mueller is ready to move. And there won't be an impeachment. Trump will be gone before there is a vote on the Articles of Impeachment.

@PontifexMarximus, at this point I doubt that would even come close to working. Liberty University, founded by Jerry Falwell, had Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump each speak on campus before the primaries in 2016. I encourage you to find the speeches on YouTube and watch them. Bernie comes across as someone knowledgeable of the scriptures, respectful of the audience, and basing his platform on what Christ taught. Trump, on the other hand, starts by quoting from "Two Corinthians." It got worse from there. Of course, Falwell Junior gave the school's formal endorsement to Trump. Before I come across as completely pessimistic and negative, I would note that, at their convention in Dallas earlier this year, the Southern Baptists officially began distancing themselves from the Republican Party.

@pimpdaddywrinkle, I play "Paradise", too. Usually at open mics you get two songs. I like to pair this one with a rewrite I did of "16 Tons". BTW, Paradise no longer exists. It was torn down in 1967 by the Tennessee Valley Authority due to health concerns over its proximity to a nearby coal-burning electric plant, Paradise Fossil Plant.

Pence should resign before he goes to prison. McConnell cannot be impeached, but can be indicted, tried, and incarcerated. Gorsuch, as far as I can tell has done nothing to warrant impeachment except being a beneficiary of the fraud that was the 2016 election. While not grounds for his impeachment, it is grounds for nullifying his appointment to the Supreme Court.
